Remarks
College management is pretty good. There was no ragging by the seniors but yes like all colleges, there will be some dada or bhaigiri types, boys, in the college who will always want you to stay under him, but you have to tackle these things by your cleverness and wit. And always keep your head cool inside the college. KIIT is a big community. So, you have to look after your self-respect first.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very good as it introduces latest technologies as part of the course and keeps on changing the course accordingly. The curriculum will be helpful to provide industry-specific knowledge that will help in securing on-campus placements. In the 4th year, there will be an industrial visit for the students. For Electrical engineers, they will take them to NALCO for industrial visit.
Placement Experience
The companies that visited our campus were Vmware, Tata Steel, Tata Power, Tata housing, Tata projects, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, ITC Infotech, Tek Systems, Dell, Cyient, Byjus, Schnieder and many others. Most of the top IT companies visit our campus. The steps for recruitment drive were an online test, technical interview and then HR interview. Around 90% of students get placed every year.
College Events
The will be many events in the college. KIIT fest is one of those in which there will be gaming contests like Dota, PubG, cricket, futsal and robotics contests like Robo war, Robo soccer and many other. Apart from these, there will be cultural events in dance, fashion, singing, bands. There will be a lot of technical games and quizzes in different departments.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The program fee was around 12,00,000 for 4 years and the mode of payments accepted by the college was Paytm or Demand draft or direct bank transfer. An additional fee of Rs 66,000 has to be paid at the beginning of the course when you select your respective branches. Yes, the college does provide transparency in fee breakdown.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, the college didn’t offer any scholarships to the students. I didn’t opt for an education loan.
Campus Life
Campus life in KIIT will be like a dream come true for you. It has a very beautiful campus and a very large campus too. Its campus is inside the city Bhubaneswar, unlike other college campuses which are located at the outskirts of the nearest city. The gender ratio is 60(M): 40(F). It's not that much rich in diversity. Students mainly come from West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.
Hostel Facilities
If you are opting for a hostel at KIIT, then go for KP-X-A hostel for boys or QC- V hostel for girls. The chicken will be there in the menu for 4 days in the week. Veg items will not be good and even paneer is also cooked badly. Hostel rooms are good. Never choose Non-ac hostels.
Alumni/Alumna
KIIT has his own website for the alumni and it has a good base of alumni who are working all over the globe.
Admission
I opted for the BTech course in KIIT because I had my moto of becoming an Engineer from a well-renowned university. I chose this college because it has a very beautiful campus and well-mantained campus and has a big community too. It has done well in the placements. As far as admission is concerned, one has to give a KIITEE entrance exam and then based upon the rank, he/she will be given admission to the different branches.
Faculty
The faculty at KIIT is top-notch. We have faculties who have studied from top IIT’s and NIT’s and other reputed colleges. There are also some faculties who have passed out from KIIT only. The tentative number of lecturers in my course was around 45 and the average age of them was around 32 and most of them had completed their Mtech from reputed universities. Most of them taught with good clarity about the subject.
