Remarks

There is always a positive as well as a negative thing about anything. The first positive thing i saw in my college when i visited for the first time is our college is situated way far from the city and thus free from the chaos and noise of the city. But i soon realise there is no public transport available for the college students have to arrange a private vehicle of their which cost them almost double than public transport. For the last 3 months there is an electric bus as a public transport from city to the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

The course is somewhat good when we compare it with the Syllabus for the GATE Exam but there is shuffling to be done and some new topics must be entered for the better. Overall it is good course for an Engineer.

Placement Experience

2

The placements are provide to us by the college placement cell. The various companies visited looking for the students for a job but the companies visited are limited to a very small number and the packages they provide is also not sufficient. So the placement is also not so good in GCET Jammu.

College Events

1.5

For the last 3 year am in the college and i haven't seen any technical festival or technical fest being organised in the college. But every year we celebrate two cultural events the Holi and the Diwali. Almost everyone participates in the events and enjoy it to the fullest. Apart from techanical events/fest various seminars and workshop organised from time to time in the college

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure in the GCET Jammu is feasible as everyone can afford such a fee structure. It is 10000-11000 per semester which is way far less than the fee in the other colleges around. Every student can submit such am amount for his/ studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes,there are many scholarships that the college is providing to the college by verifying their applications like the CSS central sector scholarship and there are others like for the SC/ST/OBC and college is also providing finacial aid to the students who are from poor economic background

Campus Life

2

There is one Sports room in our college which remains closed whenever we visit but the college is enabling the students to took an active participation in the inter -college tournament and also organises a sports week in the college.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, there are some seniors who are doing well in there career and thus also helping the juniors in their skills development, awareness and in many ways. One such example is Anmol Duugal who is a alumni and he own a company of his own,he is helping the juniors to get their skills developed to great heights do we can generate an income of our own.

Admission

I choose mechanical as my stream. I was always to know the mechanics behind the various machines and the several processes, work they performed. This cuorisity of mine made me to choose mechanical as my course.

Faculty

1.5

The faculity of our college is not very good only some of the staff members are having a good teaching skill and also help the students whenever one needs. Others are for nothing they dont even care how much syllabus is done from college side from their side. So overall faculity is not up to the mark.

Our institute has a placement call, and it helps the students acquire jobs in the industry. Many top companies like Wipro, L and T, and NVIDIA visit our campus, and it provides jobs in every field from Information Tech. to Material-related jobs. Here job opportunities are for every branch.
