Remarks
College has a very good faculty and administration. More focus is on passing the exam than learning new things. Get up needs to be maintained well. Labs are not upto the mark. Student attendence is not ensured.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course is very long and in depth. There is a good exposure towards research and we have to attend labs everyday. It leaves us exausted but I think that is what current science demands. As we learn new things everyday we will b able to go for any type of molecular research which is the need of the hour.
Placement Experience
As this college teaches only non-professional courses no internship is offered in our college. Although there are offered certain certificate courses like driving, personality development which do not earn you any stipend.
College Events
Events that are celebrated are Teachers day, world environment day, science workshops, Freshers Meets, days of many prominent Personalities, workshops on different educational tools and techniques and almost all cultural programs. Students show a very positive role towards these events and auditoriums are jam packed during these events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee is very feasible as it is a State College. For my program it is almost 24000 INR for 2 years(4 Semesters). For UG courses it is almost the same for 3 years(6 semesters). Besides this some additional money is to b paid as examination fee.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have not availed any scholarship myself and as it is a state run college it does not provide any scholarships on its own. But the Government provides many scholarships for the economically weaker sections.
Campus Life
Extra curricular activities include sports festivals, essay competitions, drug Deaddiction programs, cultural programs, debates, workshops, feild trips etc. No Drom parties are celebrated there although students parties are held like for the incoming students Freshers party is celebrated and for outgoing students Farewell parties are celebrated.
Hostel Facilities
I have not opted for hostel myself. But some of my friends are availing the facility. There the rooms are shared with two students per room in the old block of Hostels. A new block has been built which will be started soon which has a shared with four persons in it. They have to pay around ?6000 annually with additional mess charges. Also some students live in private rented accomodations where they have to pay around ?4500 per month and they need to cook for themselves on their own.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni are not in touch with the college so they have no or least impact on thr students in the college. May be in future Alumni will b invited to the college to share their experience with the current students so as to inspire them with their success stories.
Admission
I got the admission by appearing in a competitive exam after which a merit list was prepared and top 26 were selected for the admission in the college. I chose this course because it is a basic science course and after completing this degree I will b eligible to many scientific research based programs in my country and abroad.
Faculty
Every one is good. But recently many new courses were introduced recently that demands some increase in the faculty strength. The teachers there are very helpful and dedicated towards providing the best to their students.
