Interview Experience
Yes, I did face an entrance test conducted by Jammu University for admission. The admission process did not involve any group discussion or personal interview, but the written test was compulsory. The entrance was primarily designed to evaluate the overall aptitude of the students, rather than just subject-specific knowledge. The paper was based on general aptitude, which included sections such as logical reasoning, quantitative ability, verbal ability, and basic general awareness. The objective of this test was to measure the analytical skills, comprehension, and problem-solving ability of the candidates, ensuring that students admitted were capable of handling the academic rigor of the course. The test followed an objective pattern with multiple-choice questions where speed and accuracy were important. Most of the questions were concept-based and required presence of mind along with logical thinking rather than rote learning. There was a balanced mix of easy, moderate, and slightly challenging questions, which allowed the evaluators to assess students with different strengths. For preparation, I revised the fundamental concepts of mathematics and reasoning, practiced aptitude-based mock tests, and worked on improving my reading comprehension skills. I also went through sample papers and previous entrance patterns of the university to get familiar with the types of questions. Daily practice of puzzles, quantitative problems, and vocabulary building helped me improve my confidence. Since current affairs and general awareness are usually part of aptitude assessments, I also stayed updated with news and general knowledge topics. The overall process was smooth and transparent, with admission being strictly merit-based on entrance test scores. Facing the test was a good experience as it not only helped me secure admission but also enhanced my logical thinking and confidence in competitive examinations.
