Varshitha's Review On Vidyavardhaka College Of Engineering - [VVCE], Mysore

The college is well sophisticated and the infrastructure is extraordinary. The faculties are well qualified and cooperative. Hostel facility is also provided and the there is a college canteen in the campus. There is a cafe coffee day in the campus. The management and the principal are also good.

My course is ECE which has wide range of scope for research. Exams were conducted twice in a year according to semesters. Internal assessments were conducted thrice a semester. Lab internals were conducted twice in a semester. We were having gaps between each exams. We were also having quite enough time to prepare for internal assessments and lab exams so it was not hectic.

The placements were average during past few years but this year the placements are really good. In fact the placements were highest this year. The placement officer were good. They conducted the mock test before taking up the actual company entrance test which was very helpful. Regarding internship there was no internship provided in our college.

TEDVVCE - technical fest where all the branch students compete and showcase their technical skills and the best is awarded. Taranga - cultural fest where all the departments of the college participate and give cultural performance like singing,dancing drama etc. Vidyuth - the biggest college fest conducted during the month of March. The fest is held for 4 days where celebrities perform and various competitions are held and winner are awarded.

The fees structure is quite expensive when compared to other government colleges. The fees structure varies every year. Infact the fees increase every year. During admission vtu fees and college fees were payed separately. The vtu fees was 45000 and college fees was 29000.

They provide scholarship for financially low students who are good in academics. Academically bright students are provided with the scholarship. The students can apply for scholarship depending on the criteria provided and the committee approve the scholarship based on fulfillment of criteria. The college doesnot provide any kind of loans.

The college is very supportive in all the aspects. the college conducts annual cultural fest Taranga - where all the departments of the college compete and winning team will be awarded. The college also conduct annual sports meet and also host intercollege sports champianship. There is a well balance of gender ratio. The girls are encouraged with every regards. The college run on ethical ground.

The college conducts alumini meet every year. The alumini students guide us and interact with the juniors. The college arrange interaction session for the junior with the alumini. The college also provide encouragement for the alumini to conduct various workshops and seminars etc.

There was a common entrance test, admissions were done according to the ranking of the CET. First step was document verification then the colleges were allocated based on the preference provided during document verification. Then the admission was done. I wanted to be an engineer so I opted this course.

The faculties were well qualified and very educative. the faculties were very hard working,they used to prepare well before the lecture. The faculties were very friendly and always very supportive. They always encouraged us to do well in the exams as well as gain knowledge. They were very cooperative regarding the academics and other cocurricular activities.
