Remarks

Overall good environment for studying and keeping involved. But lack of experienced Faculty is killing the institute.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Okay, this college allows you to follow your dream without even going to classes.there is no boundaries of limitations. Teaching staff let you do whatever you want. But behind that, there is a lack of experience in the staff. This college was once the best of the area and even state but now the time has changed.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement cell is active and actually wants student's to get into the job as soon as they complete their studies. But once again here comes fault of students who don't want to sit in the interviews.

College Events

2

All the necessary events are Organised and celebrated. Like starting from Vishwakarma puja, Saraswati puja, teachers day, annual sports meet, annual function and some out of college activities which are seminar essay and others which can develop one's capabilities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Yes, it's little flexible according to the student, student's family and financial conditions of the student and if the parent of the student is a staff of college then also the fees are to be considered. Fees structure is flexible from 25k per annum to 55k per annum. Depends upon the condition and also for ST, SC students they get a scholarship which is full payment of college fees and half of their hostel fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes i opted for educational loan availing which was a little difficult and also the interest rate on loan for education is much higher than the house or car loans.

Campus Life

4

The campus is full of good people all around. Only the problem is that some people who are not of the state face problem much time not only understanding the language but also for support from others. Overall colleges environment is friendly there's no ragging and everyone is happy at their work.

Alumni/Alumna

Everyone in the college is helping each other especially the alumni and seniors even after leaving the college they help us with our projects and solve our problems.

Admission

Nice college for anyone who wants distance studies. Not best for the person who wants to get a complete package of knowledge and extra curriculum activities. But anyone who attends regular class can develop leadership quality in themselves. you can learn anything you want.

Faculty

1.5

The only Most Experienced person in our branch and even in the whole college as I think is only HOD of Mechanical Engineering Branch. In other streams, of course, there is an absolute lack of experience. Since its one of most reputed colleges of the state it needs little bit effort to make it up to that level once again.

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
