Remarks

They have to broad their campus and and I think college must have to take action towards the new startups so that the student must think other than placements and academics. For my opinion this should be done.

Yes, the labs of college are good with proper trainers and exams are conducted regularly you have to prepare for everyday for the next morning of your class because teachers strictly teach you and you must to follow the college discipline.

Placement Experience

As I told you at the time of admission I went there and talked to students of that college and they told that there is good placements so I got admission there. And about 400 companies visit there every year.

College Events

There are lot of events organized there you have a golden chance so that you can show your talent there because it will help you to improve your various skills which will also during your placements.

Fee Structure And Facilities

If you will talk about fee structure the fee structure is not too much high for b.tech - 1st semester-47000 2-8th semester-43000 And if you will compare the fee structure of this college from other colleges.it should be your prior choice.

Yes, there is scholarship facility available by the college,you have have good marks in jee mains you will get some scholarship and also loan facility is available but it will be available by the bank of your city.

Campus Life

If you will talk about extra curricular activities then this college is perfect for you because lot of competition and various things happens every year in college.they have separate cricket,football, tennis etc teams who can played on State level.

Hostel Facilities

I opted hostel facility there for one year and if I will rate I will give 4 out of 5 marks to the hostel facility. They will provide you meal which is good enough to eat and also if you are non vegetarian then 1 day in a week they will provide you non-veg

If you will talk about the senior you will in the contact of senior they will help you because we all know that in any college senior are most important and if you build a network with good students who are senior it will definitely help you.

Admission

I choose the course b.tech because I want to choose computer science and engineering and for that I have to choose good college with placement so that after completion of degree I will get a secured job. Now I am a 8th semester student and I got placed in a very reputated company byju's. At the time of admission I went there and talked to students of that college and they told that there is good placements so I got admission there. And also in terms of discipline they are very good

Yes, they are qualified they are not too much good but they are able to teach their subject nicely.the teachers are basically fresher and less teacher are PhD in their subjects.bt you need not to worry about these things.

supportive campus environment with the comfortable in the classess
faculty most faculty members are very much supportive and they guide the students in the right way only
events are there in the campus provided by the campus.

limited practical exposure is provided by the campus and also there should be more hand on international events

placements at my college are very very good, as everybody gets the chance to sit for the placements at the same level. we get the placement oportunities at the 6th semster also. in my brancg it is very good

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

good infrastructure , large libraries and practical labs
helpful and large opportunities in campus

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

The curriculum is relevant and covers core cse subjects like programing DSA and DBMS . it provides good fundamental for placements and further studies , more practical projects and industry based teaching would improve it .

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Gym is provided but only for name, no fame , always full

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Life at CGC Landran

So honestly, I chose CGC Landran mainly because it felt like the most “value for money + safe placement option” out of the colleges I applied to , I had applied to Chandigarh University, Chitkara, Rayat Bahra, and a couple of govt colleges through JEE counseling, and I actually got confirmed admission in CU and Rayat Bahra too, but CGC felt more balanced in terms of fees, crowd, hostel vibe and overall campus life. CU was too crowded and felt a bit like a “factory”, and Chitkara was way too expensive for me, plus their strictness is next-level. I did get rejected from one govt college because my JEE rank wasn’t good enough (my percentile was okay but not that great, only 89%ile), so cutoffs didn’t work in my favour there — basically I messed up my Maths paper. CGC’s admission process was pretty chill: you need to have passed 12th with PCM and a decent percentage, and they accept both JEE Main and non-JEE (direct merit) admissions; most students join through direct merit because JEE cutoff here isn’t very high. Cutoff is not fixed but usually if you have around 70%+ in boards, you’ll get CSE easily in early rounds. The overall admission experience was smooth — counseling, document verification, paying the initial amount, and that’s it. For me, CGC just felt like the right mix of academics, placements, and affordability, so I picked it over the others without overthinking too much....Read More

I choose this college because there are very reasonable fees which we can afford. This is well known college in my area which gives the placement to many students that was the best thing about my college. In our college they train the student by taking TPP in this we have verbal, technical, aptitutde. They prepare us for the interviews and this is not done in any other colleges. In first i tried to take admission in chandigarh university but there fees structure is out of my budget. So i choose the Chandigarh Group of College over the Chandigarh University.
