About My Institution

My College is the best in the world. The food, nature, hostel, river, chaak everything is exceptional. I want to tell you all that now I am a student of IIT Bombay the number one institute of India but I swear before all of you that my College igit was the best of the College I have been associated with. It gave me everything like a mother. It made me an engineer, it gave me job, it gave me my beautiful wife?. What more one wants?.

Course Structure was good but I felt that it would be even better if the course is slightly tilted towards industry. It will help create more job opportunities for the graduates. I was okay with the exams they were not very hectic rather those frequent exams always helped develop the engineer with in me.

In our times there was no concept of internship though it is quite relevant today. I heard that our College offers some internship now a days. The placement is good. In our time we all got placed in some organization or the other.

Horizon is the event which is very famous. The College also organises Utshahan a annual sports carnival. The respective branches have there annual tech cult fest. The College also regularly organises IMUN.

The fee structure is very cheap when compared with the private counterparts. The hostel fees is also very economical. The College through govt of Odisha provides scholarship to the students based on there category and family income.

I used to get the institute fellowship for being the topper of my department. I also received the Posco Asia Fellowship for this. The banks provide now days education loans frequently. Now a days finance is not at all a stumbling block.

The College provide a gamut of opportunities to hone ones extracurricular skills. There is no such problem regarding religion, ethnicity etc. The students were mostly from the state of Odisha with some few nominee from Northeast.

Hostels are good. I think we have 8 nos of hostels now. The College is fully residential as it house all its students. The increase in the student intake did cause a problem but the College authorities managed it very well by providing alternative arrangements.

My seniors were extremely helpful and lovable. The best part of IGIT was to interact with your seniors. The alumni members are also very helpful. In our College we have good alumni network though more improvement needs to be done in this regard.

One has to apply for Odisha Joint Entrance Examination and secure a very good rank in it. I choose Metallurgy because it was suggested by mu elder brother in law who is working in Nuclear Power Corporation under Department of Atomic Energy.

College has outstanding faculties. When I was a student I got every help and guidance from my faculties. The faculties in a govt institution are always well qualified. The teaching quality though depends on the experience.
