Remarks

The only issue with the College is providing internal marks to the students, it is comparatively strict in the College, every student should be in proper uniform on uniform days, or fine is lieved. Also its important to have a minimum of 75% of attendance to appear for the university examination. Rest is very common as in other Colleges. Only things to note before joining this are given above.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The courses and the curriculum which is offered by the College is best among the locality. The College is affiliated to Bangalore University. Its is credented as A grade by NAAC. As we r tourism students we have nothing to do with the labs. We have a practical examination once a semester, the exam is conducted as per the semester basis, we do follow the Bangalore University timetable for the semester examination, we also have to pay the examination fee for the university once a semester, which is comparatively less for b. com financial accounting where as it is very costly for the vocational students.

Placement Experience

4

There is a separate placement cell in the College, there are around 5 placement offers for the ug alone, every year there is a placement fest conducted for the outgoing students of the College, everyone undergoes a basic interview and are selected for the further stages. There are also internship from many companies who also pay stipend, I and my friends haven't gone through any internship yet, there are also certificate courses offered by the College to add on to the curriculum vitae, wch helps and provide weightage to your resume. As the College is in electronics city, Bangalore many companies such as TCS INFOSYS WIPRO BIOCON and many more come for the placement.

College Events

4.5

The College not only concentrate on academic but also give equal importance to the other extra curricular activities, there is 50 marks kept for these activities only, these 50 marks are given only on the basis of a student taking part in NCC, NSS, SPORTS, CULTURAL, SOCIAL activities. It's mandatory for everyone to take part in any of the above category to earn them 50 marks. The College have 4 houses namely ASTROS, MARINES, TERREATRIANS and BIOGENS. They fight for the overall championship. There are inter and intra College events conducted on the basis of odd and even semester. 1. Pratibha Prayan In simple words talent show, it takes place in the starting of the academic year, everyone are divided into 4 houses, the more points a house scores will take the championship home. Professional Judges and chief guest arrive from out. To monitor the event. 2. Raazmataz National level inter College event. Conducted in the month of September, many College from in and out station cube to participate and win the title. Its cultural and academic fest. 3. Athenia Intra College sports tournament, again based on 4 houses, the team with more points take the trophy, Games like cricket, football, kabbadi, athletics, kho kho, tugg of war, badminton, carrom, chess, and many indoor and outdoor, individual and team games are played to develop the physical enthusiasm of the students. 4. Yaatra Fiesta National level tourism fest, conducted by the department of commerce and tourism. There are also many fests and cultural program conducted among the department intra and inter College level. There are also NCC NSS cell in the College. Both NCC NSS of St Francis de sales College is adjudged as the best among Karnataka and goa.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of the College is very feasible compared to the surrounding Colleges and the amenities it provides, In average the fee for one academic year may vary from 35k to 45k based on the courses which can be paid in two installments. The fee payment can be only made through online as of now through College official website.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you are a student who got more than 85% in your pu the College will provide scholarship on the basis of merit, there is a competative exam conducted for the scholarship, who ranks will be provided scholarship. There is also a minority communities scholarship. Which i don't have more information about.

Campus Life

4.5

There are a ton of extra curricular activities conducted in the College, everyday each or the other departments will be having some activities, there is a specific period in a week which focuses on classroom activities. Coming to the gender ratios it is balanced. On average there are 10 male students to 9 female students. There is an annual election conducted in the College appointing the College chairperson, vice chairman, chancellor, sports coordinator and his assistant, cultural coordinator and their assistant. There is a classroom election too for the appointment of class representative. There are also students association based on ethnicity, nationality, religious and linguistic. There is a african student council, Northeast student council, Christian community, youths, volunteers cell, etc. Many activities are conducted in and among these groups. There is annual guest speaker week conducted in the College where many companies executives and professionals share their experiences. Do note: There is no any ragging as it is offensive according to law. Everyone mingles with everyone without any superiority.

Alumni/Alumna

There is an alumni meet conducted every year and there is a sports and cultural competation to to reunite the passed out batches. I don't have much information on this.

Admission

Actually we were a group of 4 friends, wanted to join the same College for the degree, one of my friend as the College was near to him already got an admission, so without much expectation we joined the College. We were having a good percentage in pu so we had just sn interview with the principal and our admission was done on the same day, as our accountancy marks were good they suggested to choose b. com financial accounting and we chose the same. When the academic year started all 4 friends were put in 4 different sections of b. com. we were totally disappointed. There was another course for b. com ie travel and tourism (Vocational course), as it had only one section we each paid 1000 rupee as fine and changed the course. We won't regret our decision as there are numerous students who takes b. com nowadays it's better to have a specialisation.

Faculty

4

The faculty department of the College is very good compared to the nearby College in the locality, there are around 60 faculty alone for the commerce department, there are many more faculty for other departments too. There are around 2000 students in the campus including pg. The teacher Student ratio is 1:50 on average. Every faculty are post graduate and many among them hold PhD. The faculty is very supportive in and out of the academic as in sports cultural and extra curricular activities.

The placement cell in my college is okay they do get few good companies for campus recruitment and they guide us thoroughly how and when we should apply for placement they do conduct some sessions and bring people to guide us with everything. The percentage of students getting placement is 50 or 60 percentage. My plan after degree is to continue pursuing acca and then finding a job abroad

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
