Remarks

Positive - Great placements Huge campus Lots of extracurricular Amazing fests Negative - Not very good for research. Exam structure is kind of old fashioned. Some labs need an upgrade. Difficult to get a hostel.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

My opinion is strongly for students who are taking coding branches in this college i.e CSE, IT, SE, MCE. My course is B. Tech., in mathematics and computing, this branch has a lot of doubts among students, so I'll try to clear as many misconceptions as possible. So our college courses work like this, first year is common for every branch and from second year it changes to core subjects. Now, our branch is a mixture of mathematics and computer science courses. Instead of courses like digital electronics which aren't even CSE core, we study probability and statistics , linear algebra which create a strong mathematical background for data science or even otherwise are still better than few CSE subjects. As far as core subjects are concerned we study all the courses such as OS, DBMS, Algorithms, Data Structures, COA. Computer Networks is an exception which is needed to be studied by taking it as an elective. These are the only subjects which are required to be studied as a proper course for job or intern interviews. If you're wondering if college teaches stuff like competitive programming, android, web development etc then I'm so sorry to say that none of these have a course of its own, and they're supposed to be studied on our own. As far as companies are concerned, there are very very few companies which aren't open for MCE. For example tower research ( only CSE 9+), sprinklr ( CSE and IT ), these are the companies which I know. Except for these 2 all the best of the best companies were open such as Samsung Research, Microsoft, DE Shaw, Arcesium, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Codenation, Amazon and the list goes on, and don't go by this misconception that they don't prefer MCE students, I myself am placed at Samsung Research and my friends are placed at Microsoft, Goldman Sachs etc. So all in all if you have doubts regarding this course I'm pretty sure they are cleared as much as possible. Exam structure - every semester has only 2 set of exams, mid sems and end sems. Mid sems involve half of the curriculum and end sems involve all of it.

Placement Experience

4

Internships and placements are exactly what many students take admission to this college for. Our college gives a lot of opportunities for internships as well as for placements. Again this review will be focused for coding specific branches. All major companies and firms such as Google, Microsoft, Samsung Research, Amazon, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs etc visit our campus. I got an intern offer from Samsung research with a stipend of 50k per month, and I also got a job offer by them with an annual CTC of 19 Laks per anum.

College Events

5

We have major fests such as Engifest ( our cultural fest) with around 50 to 60k footfall, Invictus (our tech fest) with around 15 to 25k footfall, literature fest, art fest, sports fest. Apart from these there are many of the cultural events such as Diwali Mela, Freshers week etc, and trust me our college does a really good job in organising these. So it's gonna be a fantastic experience for anyone.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My fees started with 1.25 Laks per year and with a 10 percent increase it went upto 1.6 Laks in 4th year. I'm from 2020 batch. So new students will have more than this. So it's not expensive as such, if you compare it with most of the leading institutions in this country. There are very few colleges with fees less than 1 lakh per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm not aware of any such facility of our college. Students from our college have achieved a lot such as kargill scholarship etc, but I'm not aware of any scholarship our college provides. Also there is no loan facility as far as I know.

Campus Life

4

Most of the courses have labs, and some of these are top notch. We also have a wind tunnel lab, search Google for how many colleges have it :P, so labs are great. About sports our college has a sports complex with lawn tennis, football, cricket, badminton, basketball, squash, gym athletics etc courts, and a swimming pool is also being constructed. So it's amazing.

Alumni/Alumna

Every senior is reachable from LinkedIn. About notable alumni, you can Google that founder of paytm, inventor of pentium chips are from our college. Otherwise most of the pass outs are available on linkedin and we can directly connect with them.

Admission

The process is similar like many of the colleges in India. The admission is completely based on performance of JEE mains rank. In my case the rank was a combination of JEE mains score and 12th boards, although now it's just the mains score. So, there's a committee called JAC ( Joint Allocation Authority) which is responsible for admissions of 4 colleges in Delhi ( DTU, NSIT, IIITD, IGDTUW). So students fill a priority list, based on which they get a college. For example my first priority was CSE in NSIT, next was CSE in DTU and so on. Based on our ranks, we get our course. And the last student rank to get the course becomes the cut off rank for that particular course in that college.

Faculty

3.5

Hmm interesting topic. Alright I don't have an answer for this question, as it heavily depends upon the branch. To be branch specific, my department has a good faculty. To be brutally honest, there are 2 to 3 professors which aren't any good at all, rest all of the department has amazing professors who help whenever needed. About those 2 professors, one of them doesn't even bothers to take classes and has set our papers out of the syllabus sometimes. We also have a professor who's book is part of curriculum for 3 courses, 2 in first year and 1 in second year. So it's a complete different experience if you study from the author of the book itself, and he's an amazing teacher too. So all in all about faculty, my opinion is heavily based on my branch.

There is a training and placement cell in nsut and yes placement is offered in our college. 1. After your 2nd year in btech, you are eligible for internship placement and after 3rd year your are eligible to sit in job placement. 2. There are many good companies that come to nsut, like zomato, meesho, Microsoft, google, azure, adobe, and list is really long. 3. The highest package this year was around 50LPA. The profiles are based on tech - software engineer, non tech - data analysis, core - electrical or mechanical or civil or chemical engineers in core companies like BSES, google silicon etc.

Here placement is average as many opt for higher studies the reason behind this is maybe because only a few companies visit. In which TCS is a mass recruiter. The average package here is 3-4 lakh per annum and the highest goes up to 6lakhs per annum. Here placement ratio is about 50%. I will also opt for higher studies after getting a degree
