Overall, the Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore campus is a complete institute with all the requirements that a student needs in the current time. It is one of the top-rated institutes in India and what I felt after 3 years is that the rankings are somewhat justified.

The course curriculum is very much updated according to the recent trends in the field of technology. The core and the electives are well defined and give sufficient knowledge about the course. The exam pattern is that there are two internal exams of 50 marks and 1.5 hours each known as CAT and then a final exam of 100 marks and 3 hours known as FAT.

The placements in VIT are one of the best in India. Most of the students get placed in big multinationals with an average package of around 5-6 LPA. More than 500 companies visit the campus for placements. The college also provides internships but one has to apply in the company and get selected after qualifying the rounds. I have not yet got selected for an internship.

The college respects students from all cultures and states and has communities to celebrate cultural events from time to time. The college fest is also one of the best in India named Riviera is conducted for 4 days every year. Many events take place during those 4 days and it is a lot of fun. Many superstar singers perform and add oil to the fiery riviera.

The scholarship is provided to the students with a weak economic background and good enough in studies. Not sure but the minimum requirement to avail scholarship is 8 GPA every semester and no backlogs.

The labs are very impressive with centralized air conditioning in all the labs. The systems are equipped with all the required software. The sports facilities are very impressed with all the required courts for different outdoor sports. Badminton courts are also available in most of the hostels and also there is an indoor stadium with a gym, snooker, squash, and badminton court. Synthetic courts for volleyball and basketball are also available on the campus.

The hostel infrastructure is not so good as the hostels are not new but the newly built hostel is quite magnificent. The maintenance is still good as compared to what heard from the hostel of other colleges. 24×7 medical facility is available for the hostellers. Cleaners do the work regularly still cleaning is required twice a day. The rules and strictness are very much as compared to any other institute's hostel.

The alumnus I know are placed and are working for big multinational firms with a quite impressive package. While they were in the hostel, as seniors they were very helpful all the time. Be it in academics or sports, they always helped, supported, and enjoyed with us.

I gave the VITEEE online entrance exam and secured a rank to get the CSE branch in BTech. I attended the counseling process on the Bhopal campus and selected the Vellore campus as a preference. I gave an advance demand draft and then got the admission letter which confirmed my admission.

The faculties are well informed of the student requirements and most of them adjust themselves accordingly. There comes a communication problem with some of the faculties mostly because of the south Indian accent but that is not a big problem.
