Remarks

Although the college area was dirty outside it is good inside. It is the best college is science among all the colleges in Howrah. Professors are very serious and helpful too.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is good. I came to learn many unknowns. But personally don't like the exam structure. We got half time in the 3rd year compared to 1st year though our 3rd year syllabus is almost double

Placement Experience

There is no placement under calcutta university. After graduation we have to prepare for government job write exam and if we get selected then in the interview they judge us by our marks. So there is no internship in our college

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is feasible under any government college and there are many scholarships after 12th so one can easily continue their study if they want to. We have library and book bank too in our college

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarship like if one get 75% marks they get a good amounts of scholarship. If one get 90% they got a very good amount of scholarship. Then there is konnashri. Government helps us a lot

Campus Life

Out chemistry and computer science lab is excellent but physics lab is quite old and dirty. If we can get modern instruments to work with it will be very helpful for us. I have no idea about biology lab

Hostel Facilities

No. I live in my house and make journey to the college every day. So i do not have any idea about hotel infrastructure.

External Expense: Rs. 2000 - 40000

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students more specifically union boys and girls are extremely bad. They only came college for their fashion show and canteen. They never went to college. They are not helpful.

Admission

I have applied for the physics honers course as my marks was higher than their requirement then then published a merit list and called me for admission and buy paying the admission fee i got admission in the college

Faculty

Our college faculty is quite good but there is a lot of political influence many students got admission with their political support. Although faculty is good but not the best.

1.The faculties of modern physics and computational physics were exceptional and in my opinion the best in the city. 2.Since i was more inclined towards modern physics i chose this particular college. 3.The curriculam prepares the students for higher studies like masters and doctorate. 4.The frequency and timing of exam coincided with calcutta university. 5.Areas of improvement-Better Equipment for Optics lab and more digital equipments.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.

My college offers very minimal placement for the branches of chemistry. Few Chemical manufacturing companies of haldia visits our college for placement. The avarage package for placed students is around 240000 per year.so as l come from the economics department I have access to the internships form college.

Placement Experience:

Students get placement offers in the first year of M.Stat. In general, however, most students prefer to go abroad for higher studies. Students who sit for placements mostly get placed in Finance and Analytics companies, typically in Business Analyst, Risk Analyst and other roles. ISI has a 100% placement record for B.Stat- M.Stat students. Companies like Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Co., JP Morgan & Chase, Amazon, etc. come for placements.
