Remarks

In my opinion, if you are a middle-class student this college is made for you first-class environment, highly qualified faculty, outstanding placements, living environment is also good, exposure to extracurricular activities.so in the whole complete package of what a student needs seriously especially for female student its a safe place with no ragging and harassment.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Talking about my curriculum it includes various techniques which are trending like artificial intelligence and also basic language c c++ java are also there. Operating system database software engineering which is required incorporate are there in the curriculum . Apart from theoretical subjects labs are there to implement these languages to master these languages. Various workshops of google developer group on how to make ur own google assistant are conducted on the campus. These things make a student aware of the latest trend in industries and make them look different in the crowd of thousands. Various coding competitions are organized by the department to show ur talent .Internal hackathons are there. In the whole college works at its best to develop qualities in a student. frequent industrial visit is also arranged by the college to show the student the corporate culture.

Placement Experience

5

650 companies including Microsoft google, Walmart Capgemini visit the campus with minimum package of 3.5lakh and maximum package of 30 lakh. around 80 percent of students are placed every year. steps involved in recruitment are the online test of aptitude coding and English followed by a technical interview and then at the last hr interview.

College Events

5

There are various events celebrated in the college. Like the main fest is parivartan which includes various technical and cultural events and it is one the best fest and students from other colleges also participate in this.apart from this various departmental fest are also there and prizes and certificates are also given to participants and winners.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of the college is quite feasible it is 45k per semester which is accepted in cash or by bank transfer also. As per the facilities and quality of education, the fees are worth and affordable. Now the fees are also accepted via UPI and Paytm also.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarship as per the marks the student has scored. The student must score above 90 percent to get eligible for the scholarship. the college also provides scholarship to the students who have done 12 from Punjab board and also to OBC students. The amount of scholarship is around 25k.To apply for that student has to submit documents like Aadhaar card etc in the department which gets verified and then student become eligible for scholarship.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is awesome .college environment is safe as well as hygienic also there are many food outlets like subway inside the campus. Various extracurricular events are organised to polish the talent like debate competitions, sports meet as well as many cultural fests are also there the main among them is parivartan the techno-cultural fest of college .the gender ratio is quite balanced and main thing is that the campus is idle for female studnets too.

Alumni/Alumna

The college lacks in making the network between alumni and current students. The interaction between alumni and students is there only during placements time. But it should be more frequent so that student can become aware of their experience.

Admission

Firstly I opted BTech because its aim of my life to get into technical field and also I love to involve and exploring technology so I opted BTech CSE because I love to code. Now secondly I opted for Chandigarh group of colleges landman because many of my senior has passed out from there and they all are aced in good companies. Their reviews as well as when I went to visit the campus the environment I saw made me chose this college. The fee structure, the hostel charges, and all other charges are what a student of the middle class can afford and seriously now I can say its worth because the faculty and exposure is really good over here. For admission, I went to campus directly but before that, I called there to know when will the counselling start so after that is verified my documents and as per the criteria of college I fulfilled their criteria and got admission. At the starting, I had to deposit my fees and submit my documents and then I got the admission. That's it

Faculty

4.5

6 lectures are conducted in a day in college which includes lab also. Talking about the faculty most of the faculty are experienced between age group 30-35 and some young talented teachers are also there. But the main thing is that all of them are expert in explaining topics to the level best by taking real-life examples .they just don't read books but explain the topic in a more realistic way so that students can see the impact of that. They used to take quizzes also to check the clarity of the topic. Not all the teachers have industry experience but some of them have industrial experience and they used to share their experience with the students too.

The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
