Remarks

The college gave me some good memories to remember. Along with this the idea and practical knowledge of the professional domain. And my course was already an interesting one and this college taught me to stay positive and innovative.

Course Curriculum Overview

I learned and explored a lot of better things while studying Fashion designing like some good elements Of Fashion & Design Practicals Pattern Making & Garment Construction and the practical lectures which were very interesting and I really enjoyed studying this course.

Placement Experience

Internship and placement were good and also the students were well placed in well known reputed brands. Apart from this, the college promotes the development of the students in order to make them career-oriented as well as professional designers. Companies like MAX fashion, Globus, Myntra were some of the top recruiters here.

College Events

There were several conferences, seminars, and workshops that were organized by the college like the National Conference on the topic Modern Librarianship: Opportunities and Challenges-Resource Centre this conference was held in the Mumbai branch. Also, the college promotes various seminars and hands-on training for the students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was well segregated into semesters and each odd semester we use to submit exam fees and in total the amount was approximately Rs 11 lakhs. This cost is fine as the course was professional in nature and required full attention.

Admission

I was a Fashion designing student here, for getting admission here I went through the brochure and got to know about the merit list that is published by the college, hence, I filled the admission form and waited for the final call and was lucky to get into that merit list.

In my opinion, the professors were good and polite even the guest professors and experienced designers were good and friendly with their approach. They shared their own experiences and gave us good tips on professionalism and fashion designing.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I joined cause I saw photography in the syllabus and after joining I understood what design was how vast it is. All the courses prepare us for real life challenges and the assignments are of that sort. I feel like the aspect of bringing in visitiong faculties they should also listen to whoever the students need. The jury is not that hard if youa have done your assignments timely and there is ample amount of time for submission.

The pros and cons of ASAS KOCHI

Course Curriculum Overview:

As of 1st year there is no much to study most of the time you are free and will be wandering here and there with events. The curriculum is not that great, there are a lot of unwanted topics to study and the curriculum based of the course is less and are not taught properly. They should remake the course curriculum for our benifits. By the seniors we came to know that going further the topics are going less and less which is concerning and the teachers and not regular to classes. Therefore the curriculum is not that applicable to our future. The curriculum given in there site made me choose this course but the content in it is not much satisfied. There is only one exam other than the sem exam. The papers are well balanced with application level questions and the papers are pretty lengthy.

A rollercoaster of 4 years

Placement Experience:

The college's placement opportunities are somewhat limited, especially for students pursuing creative fields like Communication Design. While a few companies visit the campus for recruitment, the number of roles and the variety of industries are not very extensive. Many students find themselves relying on off-campus opportunities or internships to secure employment. The college does provide some support through placement cells, but the assistance could be more structured and proactive. Despite these limitations, the experience of participating in placement processes has helped students build confidence and prepare for professional opportunities

Unfortunate Truth

Placement Experience:

After 8th semester the students are eligible for campus placement. Companies like Allen Solly, Kitex , Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger . Not high percentage of students are placed but some are. After getting the degree get a experienced and work as personal designer. Or fashion merchandising

Student Experience at NIFT

I had applied to different courses, like law or architecture. But I didn't pursue the above said courses as NIFT gave me a better opportunity to dive into different streams and more interesting perspectives. There was no rejection from any college. There is an entrance exam for B.Des- which consists of 2 written tests - creative aptitude test and genetal aptitude test, followed by a situation test and then admission counselling. I didn't really applied for any other college as my preference was only fixed to national institute. As you know the status and prestige a national institute holds compared to any other private colleges.
