Remarks

Positive things are placements, opportunities to learns new in clubs and chapters, and extracurricular activities. Negatives are the unbearable pressure and rules that are of no help to students and most importantly, financial problems due to expenses in addition to already expensive fees.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curriculum for electronics (My branch) is fine but some subjects I feel are unnecessary. But overall it's good. Exam structure - there are three exams, internals - CAT 1 and 2 and final assessment test (FAT) plus digital assignments and quizzes.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements are quite nice, except for civil and chemical. Internships are also provided. Many internship opportunities are given to students. I have not done an internship through my college but yes, if you got 6 months final year internship, you will get around 40000 INR stipend and mostly converted to full-time placement.

College Events

3.5

There are two major fests - Gravitas and Riviera. Gravitas is tech fest and Riviera is cultural fest. Riviera is 3rd biggest cultural fest in India. There are many events like Agaaz for standup comedy and Pro shows for all the 4 days of Riviera, which have big singers on the stage.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very expensive even if you are getting the first category. There is a total of 5 or 6 categories and the highest category fee is around 5-6 lakhs per year. This is just the tuition fee. Food and accommodation are different. However, the first category fee is around 2 lakhs but you won't get your interested field.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not heard of any such facility available in my college. But you can definitely go for an education loan from your own bank. For low-income family students, VIT has a scholarship scheme but that's not a very high amount.

Campus Life

3.5

Extracurricular activities highly active in our college are - Dance, music bands, MUN, sports like cricket, and basketball and both genders participate equally. We also now have the standup comedy presented by The Comedy Club - VIT.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel infrastructure is different for different hostels. There are around 20 blocks in Men's hostel. Only a few are good. But there are basic facilities like full-time water supply and electricity and the hostel has indoor and outdoor stadiums and a gym for exercise. There is greenery all around. Ladies hostel has very good infrastructure as far as we have heard from our friends.

Alumni/Alumna

VIT has many startups by students and hence, many alumni, and VIT helps its alumni and has a good network with alumni. But I am not sure about seniors or non-alumni students who pass out. There is also a function for awarding the alumni of our college who have done extraordinarily in the 4 years.

Admission

I wrote the entrance exam, VITEEE. On the basis of rank you get, you will be called for counseling for selecting the branch you wish and is available. Computer science branch is finished before 8000 ranks. There are 5 categories of fees, increasing after every category.

Faculty

3

Only a few faculties are pretty knowledgeable and well in teaching but 60-70% of professors are bad in concepts and teaching. The professors are neither knowledgeable nor understand the problems of students. But few of them are quite intelligent but strict and tend to fail students.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
