Remarks

Positive: It is growing tremendously and incorporating new essentials. Recently they are stressing on innovation and entrepreneurship among students. The placement scenario has skyrocketed in past 2 years which is really great. The student community i.e seniors, juniors and alumni is really great. Negative: We need more hostels to accommodate students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is fine but needs some upgradation. While some subjects are really good and important they just scratch the surface. Recently some changes have been made to the curriculum for upcoming branches which seem to be good.

Placement Experience

4.5

There's a dedicated Training and Placement Office in our college which tries to get as many internship and placement opportunities as possible. The placement and internship scenario for CSE has skyrocketed since past 2 years. Recently some IT and analytics giants visited campus for internship offering stipend as high as 1lac/month.

College Events

4

NIT Raipur is full of fests. Starting from Entrepreneurship summit, Aavartan (Tech fest), Nrityotsav(Dance fest),Shruti(Music fest),Rangmanch (Dramatics),Samar (Sports fest),Eclectika(Cultural Fest) the academic year is full of big fests. Apart from this large fests we celebrate engineers' day, Innovation day, Halloween, Diwali, Holi and other festivals. We have robothon (robotics competition), debate competitions, Drama competitions, poetry throughout the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible. Since this is a centrally funded institute fee waivers are given to those who face financial issues. Tuition fees for anyone whose family income is more than 5 lac per annum is 1,31,000 per year. Apart from this the hostel fees are around 30,000.

Fees and Financial Aid

As mentioned earlier government gives direct fee waivers based on income categories. The income categories are divided into categories like more than 5lac per annum, less than 1lac per annum. Apart from this loan facilities are available and any student can go to the student section to know more about loans and scholarship. OP Jindal is one of the scholarships I have heard of, there are definitely many more.

Campus Life

3.5

Labs are good, we have PC's with i7 7th gen processors. Recent a super computer and GPUs have been installed. We have a basketball court, volleyball and badminton courts. There are two grounds which are used for cricket, football and hockey. Apart from this table tennis is available in hostel. Sports fest is one of the large events of the college thus sports is followed to a great extent in the college. Many students participate in inter nit championships and train for that.

Hostel Facilities

2

All boys from 2nd year to 4th are allotted Hostel H which is mega hostel. Since it is constructed recently that is 3-4 years ago the infrastructure is good. Recently authorities have ensured cleanliness in the corridors which is appreciable. All other facilities are fine but mess remains an issue as with almost every hostel. Also hostel rooms are not available for every student here which is an issue.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is pretty good. Last year when I was trying to get an internship I used my alumni network and they really helped me. We have active data science and other groups with our alumnis. Seniors are the best in NIT Raipur. I have learnt a lot from them. It's a legacy over here which is passed on to upcoming branches. Every branch tries their best to help their juniors through programming classes, mentorship and other events. Senior junior interaction is really great and healthy in the campus.

Admission

I had to clear JEE mains examination to get an All India Rank. Josaa helds various rounds of college and branch allocation based on these ranks which you have to accept by visiting a JOSAA centre nearby. After I was allotted CSE at NIT Raipur I came here got my documents verified, paid the fees and I got the admission. Documents required: JEE mains result JOSAA seat allocation print 12th result 10th result

Faculty

4

Faculties are good as far as Computer Science and Engineering department is concerned. I never had any issue while approaching them or understanding the subjects. Recently the short term training programs conducted by various faculties seems interesting, it really helps students to update themselves with trending technologies.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are eligible to appear for campus placements which starts towards the end of their 7th semester. Companies that visited for Civil Engineering: L&T, Adani, Stratview Research, PlanetSpark and several local firms. The highest packages were offered by Adani (approx 7 LPA) and L&T (6-7 LPA). Around 5-7 students received placement offers from the mentioned companies. It is important to note that a lot many students did not sit for campus placements as they had different career aspirations (government jobs, higher education, business ventures etc.) My plans were to prepare for upcoming competitive government exams as well as try my hand at something different and creative

1. Students from seventt semester and onwards are eligible for the campus placements. 2. There are ample numbers of comapnies visited in our college like schneider electric, bpcl, bhel, bhel, reliance, catterpillar, eil, and so on. As per the last year data around 130 comapnies made in to our campus and they offered around 800 plus offers to various studenst of different departments. 3. The highets package offered this year is 60 lakhs that is offered by DE Shaw and average package is something around 11 laks per annum 4. Taking considerations of students of all departments, almost 70 percent students get placed. 5. Presently my plan after getting degree is to get into a job.

Microtex, HCL, Wipro and many other IT companies gives us research projects and also their work as well. So, we basically have indirectly worked for them and the ones they feel can add more to their organization comes with a clear mind and take us with a package that we expect them to. So, placements are purely on performance as those who perform well are given best of placements.
