Remarks
This institution is situated somewhere in the jungles, and so the transportation facilities are not good. The gym which we pay for is not fit to accompany even 50 people comfortably at a time, where as the total strength of the college is around 5000. The college has a huge campus which could be used to provide various facilities to the students but even then no such facilities are present, which is something sad.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum for chemical engineering under this university is a wonderful chance to learn things, the curriculum also allows us perform certain activities like industrial visits, attending trainee programs in summer holidays and even do a minor and a major project in the final / fourth year. The exam pattern is lengthy, and not quite mark fetching as the paper contains only 2, 6 and 15 marks questions, which have no MCQs, or single word answers, we are asked to write the answers as the question demands.
Placement Experience
The placement cell is quite active in the college, though we haven't have the opportunity to face many exams till now, as half of the year has passed already, yet the past records are good, enough to hold hopes that the college would put in efforts to get us placed. The college does allow us to apply for various internships, during the summers but only after the 4th semester. The last experience in hold is from my 2 months of internship at B.A.R.C., Mumbai, during the summers of 2019
College Events
There are quite a few events celebrated in our college, and the year start with the celebration of the Indian Independence Day, i.e., 15th August, followed by the annual athletic meet, the Republic Day, i.e., 26th January. The annual techno-cultural fest, namely Horizon, with is organized entirely by the students, the branch festivals, the Engineers Day, and a few more.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible. We being the students of a government organized college, the fees are feasible, and not thus they do not turn out to be a headache for our fees payers. Moreover for a few students, the facilities like students loan also helps a lot.
Fees and Financial Aid
The only loan I have heard about is the students loan, which is offered by banks, the college does not provide any such loans as per my knowledge, but I may be wrong as well. The scholarship again is not something common for all, as per the constitution of India, the reservations are done only for the SC/ST/OBC/ Women/ Physically handicapped, and according to the government policies, these categories are also waived some part of their fees.
Campus Life
The labs are not in a proper condition. On a scale of 5, I personally would rate it to be 2.5. the chemicals are abundantly available, but the apparatus available are not quite helpful in performing any activities. The college has a good infrastructure when it comes to sports, the rating here would be 3.5 out of 5. But any extracurricular activity, is entirely planned by the students' committee, the college authority has nothing to do with it.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior junior relationship is quite a good culture in this college, there is no offensive conduct in any batch, moreover the students have a better unity as it is at times needed to get some work done by the authorities. The alumni network is again what the students committee has to do by itself, the college authorities have no involvement in this.
Admission
After appearing the ALL INDIA JEE examination, I got the chance to select the institutions I wanted to enter and with the final merit list I found out that I was selected to get admitted into this institution. The rest of the processes were the traditional processes, like documents verification, fees deposition and so on.
Faculty
The faculty this college has is quite talented. All of the faculties are GATE qualified personnel with at least a masters qualification and some of them even hold the PhD degree from the well knows universities and institutions of India. But the problem lies with the attitude of certain faculties, who don't consider the need of preparing before coming to the class, and just teach things reading them out from the book. And I don't think that's anywhere needed, because if this was the method then the students could read the subjects staying back in their homes as well
