Remarks

Positive: Very dedicated to getting us good marks and good placements as well. Are willing to provide anything to help us in improving our skills. The scholarships they provide are also very convenient for the students. Negative: Do not give importance to extracurricular actvities much. Class time is too lengthy

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum in my opinion is still a bit outdated and way too lengthy and there are many unnecessary and insignificant topics to study. In first year I had to study physics, chemistry, engineering mechanics and many more subjects which I had no interest in and also would not be helpful in increasing my skillset in any manner whatsoever. The exam structure we have at this college includes a total of 3 Internal exams and one external exam for theory papers. Out of the three internal exam the first 2 have more weightage i.e. 20 marks each and the portions are the 1st and 2nd module for the first internals, and the 3rd and 4th module for the second internals. The third exam is given the least weightage which is just 4 marks. The external exam is conducted by the university and corrected by the same. The practical exams are conducted and evaluated by the college itself. We have continuous evaluation at our university so every lab hour's performance is taken into account and the final lab exam is for 30 marks.

Placement Experience

3.5

My college is comaratively new, it's only been operational for around 6 years. But still there are many placement opportunities. The companies that come to my college are most of the generic IT companies and some local companies as well such as TCS, Infosys etc. and also some big companies as well who offer bigger packages such as Goldman Sachs. The college starts training the students for placements since the very first year so the placement statistics at our college is very high. The college does not provide internships.

College Events

2

Sports Day: Many sports events take place over a period of one month such as basketball, football, tabletennis, athletic events etc. It is a competition between 4 different group of students in the whole college. The winners get activity points as well. Onam Celebration: Onam is a festival celebrated in kerala, and a celebration is a necessity in all instituitions. The events that occur are several traditional dances and a lot of informal dancing. One such event is called the Chenda Melam. There is also the event of setting up floor art with flowers known as 'Pookalam'. In this event boys wear mundu and girls wear sarees. Arts Fest: Many events take place during this fest. Its mostly a competition. The events that take place are dance, songs, etc. Its a day long event filled with fun. Tech Fest: This is a inter-collegeate tech fest conducted at our college where there are multiple events technical and otheriwise. Each branch comes up with a set of events and gives out cash prizes as well for some competitions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure at our college is pretty feasible. I pay Rs. 75000 for one year. There are additional fees as well which changes every year which may vary from 10,000 to 20,000. The 75000 is divided into a few criterias such as tuition fees, lab fees etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

We do have a scholarship available at our college. If a student who is joining the college has 90 or above in their 12th Math paper the fees for that student would be Rs. 8500/-. But students who do not have this scholarship in the beginning can earn it by getting a gpa of 8 or above. They won't get the 8500 scholarship directly but if they maintain the 8 gpa they will eventually get that scholarship. However if a student happens to get a backlog they lose their scholarship and fall down to the next lower level.

Campus Life

4

They are alright, our college is more focused on academics rather than sports. Whatever extracurricular activites we take part in, we do it after college hours. Labs are available for us at our convenience.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students are very helpful. We can ask them for any doubts about the syllabus, about placements, about more possible career paths that they learnt about. They are not at all hesitant to take time out of their busy schedules to help guide us.

Admission

I got admission in this college through an entrance exam known as KEAM. It is an all kerala entrance exam for students who want to go for engineering. There are 2 parts of the exam which are Math and science. After i wrote the exam i got a rank of around 16900. Then the next step was to give different options of which college to go to. I selected Muthoot as one of my options and got a seat at this college. After i got a seat i was asked to pay a fee of Rs. 10,000/- to confirm if I was joining the college or not. So I paid the amount and confirmed my seat at the college. Then I was asked to come to college for the admission process. I reached there and they verified all the documents and told me to pay the college tuition fees and some other fees as well which amounted to Rs. 60,000 almost. I chose to pay only one semester fee and pay the rest in the next semester, and yes this option is available and very convenient as well. After this I was asked to wait for the interview with the HOD of the department i had selected which was computer science. So after waiting for a while I was called and he asked me a few questions, such as why i had joined this college, why I selected this course, what are my ultimate goals, and then I answered them and then he asked me if I had any queries about the college and I asked about the sports facilities which are pretty decent. And then he welcomed me to this college and said I could leave. And then I started going to classes here.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty at my college is very hard working but old-fashioned. There are some very good teachers and at the same time there are some average teachers as well. Overall they are mostly good only, they are very supportive and are willing to clear any doubts we have inside the class or outside the class as well. They are very patient with all the students as well.

Campus placements are highly volatile taking the stats from over the past three years there has been an up trend as well a down trend, I hope I will get placed through on campus interviews, the highest package of this year was for two graduates who got into IBM with 22 lakhs per aanum, there are few who didn't get into any of the companies while there were others who got int Amazon and other reputated companies, if I do not get into a reputed company through my college on campus placements the. I'll be aiming for higher educations most probably

Students become eligible for placement from the 6th semester onwards. At the conclusion of the second year, the college evaluates all students, allowing only the diligent and deserving individuals to proceed, while others are dismissed. The college provides excellent placement prospects for high-performing students. A multitude of reputable companies actively recruit from our institution, making it a premier destination for career opportunities in Kerala. While assured placement is offered to students with minimal or no backlog papers, others are also placed, albeit with comparatively lower annual packages. Majority of the talented students are placed in Cognizant and TCS Ninja with an average annual package of 10 to 12 lakh. I actually plan to pursue higher studies after Btrch.
