Remarks

I feel a certain lack of integration with technology exists in our college. Lot of the administrative work and teaching is done without any technology. Along with that, there is very less emphasis on practical knowledge. Lot of subjects do not have labs and even the ones that do are not taken seriously.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

My course is new, which is good and has some good mathematics subjects. As the name suggests, my course contains subjects from mathematics and computer sciences. 1st year is common for all with subjects from all branches. Exams are divided into midsemester exams and end semester exams with endsemester having higher weightage. We are then graded relative to everyone appearing for the course

Placement Experience

4.5

The internship and placement opportunities are great here. It is one of the things DTU is famous for. Yes, internships too are provided. I, being in 3rd year have appeared for internships only as of now. My experience was fairly good. Lot of MNCs visited to hire interns mainly for software based roles. For those interested in such roles, there is ample opportunity to apply and secure an internship. It is difficult given the competition, but with practice it is achievable.

College Events

4

Lots of events are celebrated throughout the year. The annual cultural fest called Engifest is the biggest event of the year. Lot of other events are also planned throughout the year. Most of the famous festivals are also celebrated. The campus always has some event or the other going on.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is between 1.25 to 2 lakhs per year. This is excluding hostel and mess charges. My 1st year had 1.25 lakhs while my 3rd year has had 1.66 lakhs of tuition fee. It increases every year slightly. In 4th year, my fees will be close to 2 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not availed any loan or scholarship. But I am sure there are various schemes available, some provided by college and some by banks. I know people who have availed these. But unfortunately, I do not have enough knowledge about it.

Campus Life

3

A lot of sports facilities are available. All major sports have fields for students. As per activities, a lot of workshops and seminars are conducted to keep the interested engaged. There are a lot of societies consisting of students of similar interests. Labs unfortunately are not well conducted. Not too many students take their practical labs too seriously. Unfortunately the teachers incharge too show a lack of interest in lab subjects. Infrastructure for labs is also inadequate.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Yes, I have opted for hostel. The hostel conditions are unfortunately very poor. Rooms provide the bare minimums while washrooms are not regularly cleaned. Water dispenser is also not working currently and there are significant amount of power cuts. WiFi provided is also unreliable at times. Mess is acceptable. Though I would have liked if a shared kitchen was available.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network and senior students are really helpful. A lot of them like to stay in touch with their juniors. There is no ragging that I encountered during my time here. All the seniors are really helpful in guiding students forward.

Admission

I was an NRI before coming to DTU. Our admission criteria is our SAT Subject Tests scores. After appearing for those in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, we submit our scores to a college that organises the admission for our year. For our batch, that was one of the NITs.

Faculty

3

The faculty for my course is relatively good. My branch has a few new teachers along with some experienced ones. So, it's a nice combination of the two. Their knowledge of their subject is impeccable. The only issue is that sometimes, teachers leave a lot of the course for the students to complete by themselves.

There is a training and placement cell in nsut and yes placement is offered in our college. 1. After your 2nd year in btech, you are eligible for internship placement and after 3rd year your are eligible to sit in job placement. 2. There are many good companies that come to nsut, like zomato, meesho, Microsoft, google, azure, adobe, and list is really long. 3. The highest package this year was around 50LPA. The profiles are based on tech - software engineer, non tech - data analysis, core - electrical or mechanical or civil or chemical engineers in core companies like BSES, google silicon etc.

Here placement is average as many opt for higher studies the reason behind this is maybe because only a few companies visit. In which TCS is a mass recruiter. The average package here is 3-4 lakh per annum and the highest goes up to 6lakhs per annum. Here placement ratio is about 50%. I will also opt for higher studies after getting a degree

College management needs to work upon just the placement cell and needs to invent new methods to keep uninterested students glued and up for studies.
