Remarks

One of the strongest point of this college is Placements cell. The people involved in this cell work tirelessly so we students can get good job opportunities. One of the negative remarks is that the city is small. So not very much for the entertainment.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is vast and is reviewed at the end of every year by faculties. A semester has 3 exams. Cat 1 is conducted after 1 and a half month of starting of college which exists of 50 marks followed by Cat 2 after another month also of 50 marks. Final term end examination is called Fat which contains all the topics covered in the course in the entire sem which is of 100 marks.

Placement Experience

5

Placements have been fabulous for VIT. Many reputed companies like Siemens, Amazon, Oyo, RBS, Schlumberger, Morgan Stanley, 42 Gears etc came for the recruitment process. Internship and full time is provided based on the individual student's performance. Also internship is provided by the VIT itself. I didn't opted for VIT internship so I don't have much details about it.

College Events

3.5

There are mainly 2 fests conducted in the campus. First one which is GRAVITAS is a technical fest which is conducted in the month of September or October. Another one which is RIVIERA is conducted in the month of February which is cultural fest. Also many events are conducted frequently.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is divided into five categories. The no of seats are divided into these 5 categories. For eg Category 1 contains a certain no of seats in every branch and it's fees is around 2.5 lakhs. When no of seats is over in Category 1 then the student has to take seat in another subsequent category for which fees is increased. Category 1 fees is 2.5 lakhs, Category 2 is 3 lakhs, Category 3 is 4 lakhs, Category 4 is 4.5 lakhs and Category 5 is 5 lakhs. (tuition fees only) Upto category 3 it's quite feasible but after that it's expensive. But the experience gained and the job opportunities offered here can totally outweigh it.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you come from a financial poor background then scholarship is provided by the college. Also scholarship is provided based on the entrance examination ranking. 1-5000 ranked students get 50000 scholarship for every year and 5000-10000 get 25000 worth of scholarship every year.

Campus Life

4.5

The technical labs created based on the specific course is quite decent. Computer labs are air conditioned. Other mechanical course labs have the required machines. Sports facilities provided is also very good. There are AC gym, squash courts, tennis court, volleyball and basketball court. Karate is also practiced here.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes I have opted for hostel. Hostel infrastructure are very good and the facilities provided are also very good. Apart from one or two blocks all other hostel blocks are quite decent. The newly one which is completed this year is excellent.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very supportive and guide you through your problems. The campus is Anti Ragging. I never experienced or saw anyone being intimidated by the senior students. Alumni network is strong here and everyone is connected.

Admission

VIT conducts it's entrance exam called VITEE which is conducted in the month of April. It is a computer based exam. Each candidate gets a rank based on his performance. After that counseling is held which is conducted in slots. For eg 0-20000 ranked students are called first and asked to select their branches based on the availability of seats and so on. Upto rank 80000 are called.

Faculty

4

All the faculty of VIT, Vellore are IITians and NITians. So knowledge level of faculties is excellent. The faculties have trainings in which they are taught how to teach the students. Many faculties from other colleges are asked to come for the guest lecture.
