VIT is a good place to live in. But the strict rules and restrictions imposed on the students makes it difficult to tolerate at times. Discrimination based on sex is seen in the rules of VIT. Girl - boy interactions are not favored. But in terms of the infrastructure and exposure, VIT is good.

The course for the exam is 10+2 level. Generally easier than jee level questions. Syllabus and study materials can be used that of Jee main. The exam has no negative marking for wrong answers. But less time is available considered to Jee.

Placements are made regularly in VIT. Branches like CSE and IT have almost 100% placement. Some students also gets placed in the super dream offers. But branches like mechanical has a lot of students. This makes getting a placement harder for them. Internships are provided. 1 month of internship is compulsory here in VIT. Stipement depends on the type of internship.

There are a lot of events being held in VIT. Actually, we have an event almost every day. More than 100 clubs and chapters actively participate in organizing these events. The main events organized by the college are gravitas and Riviera. Gravitas being the technical fest, has a lot of workshops. Riviera is more of a fun event with proshows by famous artists.

Students are divided into 5 categories based on their VITEEE rank. Students in category 1 has to pay around 2 lakhs as tution fee. Every catagory that follows has to pay about 1 lakh more than the previous catagory. The hostel and mess fees are not included in this.

STAR programme by VIT selects brilliant students across Tamil Nadu from poor families and provide them free education. All other students has to pay fees. No loan facility is offered to the best of my knowledge.

VIT has a lot of opportunities in extracurricular activities. They have the required facilities and equipments for it. In fact, taking up an extra curricular activity is a part of the academics. Labs are good. Sports facilities are good but the grounds are usually always crowded.

VIT has a good alumni relationship. There are no senior junior differences in VIT. All study in the same class by taking up the subject and faculty of their wish at any semester or year. This maintains a good senior junior relationship. In knowing the campus, seniors are helpful.

Based on the ranking in VITEEE examination. 12th marks are not considered. Based on the VITEEE rank, students are called for counseling. There, the students choose their preferred branch according to the availability of seats.

There are a lot of faculties in VIT. Opinion on them varies according to each individuals. Most of them are PhD holders. Some are very strict and some have less interest in teaching. But there are good faculties too.
