Remarks

The most important positive remark I would give about the college would be the location itself. I've been in love with Mysore and I would say it's one of the perfect places to live in. Especially Bannimantap, the area around the college is really peaceful.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum is pretty stuff and is the same throughout the country as created by the Medical Council of India ( MCI ). It's a 5 and half year duration course with 4 and half year of academics and 1 year of internship. 3 internals and 1 professional ( final ) exams are conducted every year.

Placement Experience

5

100% placement is guaranteed anywhere in India and also in abroad after appearing for the specific exams of those countries. College provides internship of 1 year in the JSS hospital where there are plenty of patients. The current stipend provided is 12,000 Rs.

College Events

3

Annual Arts fest called 'TATVAM' Annual sports fest Independence day celebration Holi Ganesh chaturthi Teachers day Freshers day Christmas Onam University Arts and Sports fest Republic Day Malayalees meet , Tamil meet , Kannadiga meet, Telugu meet and Northies meet

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure of 2016-2017 was better more feasible which was 7,14,750 Rs but the present fees is quite expensive which is around 16 lakhs per year. The fees has almost doubled from 2016-2017 to 2017-2018.

Fees and Financial Aid

Education loans are available from banks like State Bank of India. But the maximum loan is limited to 10,00,000 Rs. Loan application has to be submitted to the bank where the student would be asked to submit a fee structure provided by the college.

Campus Life

4

Annual college arts and sports fest happens every year which is open to all medical students within the college and from any other Indian medical college. Specific labs of every first and second year subjects are present in the college. A big sports ground , a basket Ball ground and gym in also available in the specific hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are really helpful in guiding and helping us both about exams, in hospital postings and record works. There isnt any form of ragging present in the college because of the strict Anti-ragging measures taken by the college authorities.

Admission

Selection was based on NEET ranks and marks that were sent to the college a month before the admission since it's a deemed college. 3 rounds of counselings were done and I got admission in the 1st round under the merit seats.

Faculty

4.5

Efficient faculty who are there to help out throughout the whole course providing help in acedmic, practical and emotional ways. There is a system of mentorship provided in the first and second initial years where a group of 3-4 students are alloted to a particular professor who keeps a check on the students and provide them special care.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
