Remarks

Every colleges have their positive and negatives in my 3 year experience I did not noticed much of negatives on my college. most of my experience was awesome. Although I want to mention some of the negatives below. Loose and labs are not well lit by the natural light. There is no lifts so I have to climb stairs to the 3rd floor for classes. Our college ground its small it is good enough for one team to play a game but there is no room for two teams to play at once. these problems are not exactly real life problems but I thought I need to mention them.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course Curriculum is same as other colleges in kolkata. you must have 75 % attendance, done all your practical work books and projects ( if any) , you must go to excursions etc. Our teachers are very helpful to us , they have there own tution class, if you join there tution classes then you can get extra benefits like easy vivas, extra attention in class, special sugessations for exams etc. College union is very helpful the will help you in any setuation. In my 3 years of curriculum i never experienced ragging by the seniors, but got much help from them.

Placement Experience

0.5

Our college does not offer internship or job opportunity but there is a free computer training program which you can join. it can be helpful in future. Many established and reputed person have done there college from here. so don't worry for the placement just focus on study.

College Events

5

Saraswati puja, freshers, Nobin boron, holi, basanta utsav, utsav, graduation ceremony, are a few celebrations which are celebrated in our college. Most of this festivals are organised and maintained by our college union

Fee Structure And Facilities

Every course have different fee structure. The fee structure mostly depends of how many practical subject you have. The fee structure is briefly described in fee slip. The fees for development purposes, cultural festivals, library charges, union charges, and exam fees are also included in the annual fee slip. you have to deposit the fees in the college specified Bank.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college does not offer any loan facilities for scholarships from our college fund you can go for the national scholarships or kanyashree from west Bangal government. Although our college provides concession in railway or bus the concession drastically decrease the price of the rail or bus tickets. I opt for the concession it helped to save a lot of money on travelling by train. though you have to make an application every month for this concession.

Campus Life

4.5

Our college has a ground in the campus where you can play football cricket or badminton on your free time. annual sports events are also organised from our college, which includes indoor games like chess compilation, carrom compilation, and recently PUBG tournament, and outdoor games like cricket, football, long jumps, high jumps etc. We have special labs for physics, chemistry, zoology, botany and physiology with trained lab staffs.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, ex students and seniors are very helpful in all setuations, here I want to shear a experience of my own, on my second year I lost my paid fee slip, the slip is needed to get the admit chard for exam, I addressed this issue to Subham Mity (well renounced person of College unions) he went to bank with me and created a duplicate slip for me. I am so thankful to him as if he didn't helped me I could not get the admit card for exam.

Admission

After passing H.S exam I went to my college website VidyasagarCollege.edu to fill up the administration form then after a week or so college posted a Merit list on the same website, along with a date of counseling. I went to the college in that date, our senior students guided through the whole process and I got admission. admission fees need to deposited in the college bank but now days this process has changed a little bit now days you dont need to visit to college at counseling date, a webpage will open in the college website for counseling. This is to prevent backdoors of the administration.

Faculty

5

All our teachers and staffs are very helpful some time they are so annoying as they don't listen to you but at the end of the day the will help you. our practical labs are clean and well maintained, our excursions are comfortable and joyful. college office staff works good they provide you admit and results in time. College union is active and do cultural festivals etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
