Remarks

It has very good infrastructure among all IIts. As far as its location is concerned, it is situated near the bank of brahmaputra. Ideal place for studies and to spent four great years of your life. I can proudly say that institute is doing great and hope

Entrance Preview

IIT JEE (2005), cleared mains with 2456 rank (94/180 marks). Loved chemistry and mathematics.

Internships Opportunities

Done at reliance Jamnagar. Awesome experience, got pre-placement offer.

Placement Experience

Again excellent. Almost all students were placed, but later many opted for higher studies.

College Events

Alcheringa, one of the most followed festival in north-east.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yup. Many government offered scholarship programs are there. Just visit institutes website for more updates.

Campus Life

Frankly at IITs gender ratios is very poor, but it has many clubs which offers many new opportunities to enhance your extracurricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

It was highly subsidized. Quality of hostel rooms, and mess food was good.

Engineering from private college land you no where

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum they will show you before admission is completely different what you will be getting. They will be covering things but not with a higher level. In a subject easy topics will be covered but when teacher find any topic difficult , it will not come in exam since everyone has to pass the exam. They can just follow the GATE exam curruculum and that would be enough for any students to outperform after engineering with real time lap teaching. There is semister exam only where you will have to give workshop and lab exam along with theory paper

Good placement and affordable

Placement Experience:

Placements start from 7th semester (4th Year). Companies like Amazon, Legato, TCS, Synopsis, etc. visit for on campus placements. We have a very good placement ratio and average package. For CSE, the average package was 13 LPA and 92% students were placed. While for ECE, the average package was 8 LPA and 66% students were placed. I'm planning on gaining work experience for 2 years after my B.Tech and then pursue MS Or M.Tech from abroad.

I choosed because my CEE marks which was 92 at that time was not enough to get admission in govt engineering colleges and the OBC cut off was 120+. So, in Whole northeast Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology is the no 1 and the oldest private engineering college and I decided to take admission there.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Distance is the only issue.

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
