Remarks

There is still a lot of scope for improvement on external exposure through internships and industrial level training. The number of placements provided needs to be improved also. The Entrepreneur support and initiative are really good. Encouraging students to think out of the box and brainstorms ideas. Financial support is also provided for worth while ideas.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The college is part of the MG University when I was studying in college ( the university has changed to another common University - Kerala Technical University common for all engineer colleges in Kerala ) The curriculum was a little outdated, having a lot of non-engineering subjects that where unnecessary to the course. The core subjects of the course where good having thorough coverage of all the topics, giving a really good base for an engineer.

Placement Experience

3

Companies like TCS, Wipro, IBM, Infosys, Neudesic are some of the IT companies that come for recruitment. The placement cell trying to bring in different companies, it is overall good. But placement are mostly oriented for IT companies, for other courses the placements are very less. College itself does not provide internship but students are encouraged to do internship and are provided sufficient support to do them.

College Events

4.5

Annual intercollege Arts and Technical Feats are held spanning 3 days with full competitions and fun events, students from different colleges are invited to participate. Annually internal sport meet are held. Where students are split into different groups ( 4 ) and they compete against each other for the overall trophy. Annual internal Arts festival is also held. The same groups compete, on different events like dance, music, instruments etc. Festivals like Onam and Christmas are celebrated in a grand way with small events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its a bit expensive but all the fees are adering to the Govt rules and regulations. And the fees is similar to most of the private engineering college in the state. As an uniform fees structure is maintained as per the Govt laws.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarship facilities provided through different schemes by the Govt of india, and govt of kerala. Loan from different banks can also be availed. Different scholarships are the State Merit scholarship, suvarna jubilee scholarship etc.

Campus Life

4.5

Lab facilities are well maintained with proper staffing for each lab. With latest technologies and facilities. Labs are good. Different sports a facilities are available for football, cricket, basketball and volleyball. With the staff to support the same.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Men's and ladies hostels are provided by the college with proper rules and regulations. They also provide mess facilities. food provided is not that good but is not bad. Students have the right to complain and make improvements on the menu provided in the mess.

Alumni/Alumna

Well organized alumni network are available. With annual / 5 year and decade meetings. The alumni are also encouraged to participate in different events held in college and to provide financial support for student projects.

Admission

There multiple ways you can got admission to this college. One is through the Entrance Exams - the state government of kerala ( India ) conducts an entrance exam ( KEAM) after which a rank list is published. Based on the rank students are given admission to various colleges in Kerala. In this college also depending on the cut off rank and depending on the vacancy for each course students are given admission.

Faculty

4

The faculty where all minimum of MTech holders. With the many senior faculties having a PhD in there respective fields. They are really helpful being available all the time to help students out in studying or in labs and projects.

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
