Remarks

The mechanical faculty was good in our college. And we were given maximum freedom. That is the only positive about the college. Everything except this is negative including spreading hatred and constant fights among students. The management of the college does not consider the welfare of the students. They are only after the money which they get from the students.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Mechanical engineering production is a good stream which provides students with a wide variety of different mechanical production operations and the machines used in them. First year of the course consist of subjects from all the other stream and some basic engineering subjects like graphics and mechanics. All the other three years focus mainly on the production part rather than the mechanical part.

Placement Experience

0.5

We can say that there are almost zero placement from SVNCE. They may advertise that there is placement for everyone but the face is that not even a single student is placed in any company. The college management do not invite companies to conduct placements. Our college does not provide any internship.

College Events

0.5

The events which are celebrated in our college are Onam and holi. Besides this no other events are given permission. If we approach the principal asking for permission he will say about the tight academic schedule coming up. Most of the events are celebrated on the sole risk of students without getting permission from college principal or management.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure was feasible for merit students. But for students who got admission through NRI quota it was rather expensive. So it is best not to get admission in the NRI quota. Management quota students also had to pay an above average amount as fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far us I know the college only provides scholarship facility to only some students who approach the management through their personal relationship. If a batch had 600 students then the maximum number of students who got scholarships was limited to a mere 3 or 4 students. The college by itself does not provide any loan facility. We have to approach banks which have double interest rate for paying our fees through loans.

Campus Life

2.5

Labs were good during the time which I studied. The lab technicians were too good and had perfect knowledge about everything in the lab. The college does not have any other extracurricular activities other than one cricket match which is conducted my the men's hostel. The college does not take any initiative to conduct any extracurricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

3

I did not opt for the hostel since the college was nearby my house. But as far as I know the hostel facility is good. But it does not have bathrooms fro individual rooms. There was a common bathroom which is to be used by everyone. The food provided in the hostel was too bad. After several complaints also they did not change the food.

Alumni/Alumna

There are no aluminiy network by the college. The students themselves have created their own wharsapp and Facebook groups through which they share their activities and views about the college. The college does not even take any responsibility to conduct an alumini meeting. In fact the college does not even conduct a graduation ceremony.

Admission

I wrote KEAM entrance exam and got a rank. I selected 3 different options having mechanical engineering production and got SVNCE in the first allotment. Since the college was near to my home I went to the college and filled their application form and paid a fees of 300 rs through post office. Then two days after I was called to confirm my allotment.

Faculty

4

The faculty in our college was good. Especially the mechanical department had great faculty and everyone were well qualified and they also taught us well. We were given good guidance of the different subjects. The Computer science teachers are just coming to the college for show off and they do not teach as well. All other departments have average teachers.
