Remarks

Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration ranks in the top 10 colleges of India and is definitely a very good college for commerce students. The college always gives first preference to education.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is according to Calcutta University and includes all the subjects related to commerce. The college takes 3 semester exams and one selection exam before the final exams every year conducted by Calcutta University.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are also good. Big for companies like deloitte, e&y, etc come to the college. Although the percentage of students selected is not very high. The college does not provide any internship to the students.

College Events

4

The events start with the superb freshers party in which the new students are welcomed by the seniors. There after many cultural events on various occasions like Saraswati puja, independence day celebrations etc occur. Annual fest & Annual Sports Day is also organised which is full of competitions and fun.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration is a Government college so the fees is very low. In 2015-17 it was Rs 85 per month and admission was maximum 1000 and exam fees was approx 500 in a year.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not sure about any scholarship /loan facility offered by the college. Moreover it is a Government college so the fees is already very low. Still I think they must be offering scholarships to the students who need it.

Campus Life

3.5

Extra curricular activities include sports like football, tennis, badminton, computer labs are also available aur there is a union in the college which organises dance competition, fashion shows, singing competition etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration does not provide any hostel facilities which is of course a drawback of the college , but pgs are available near the college so the students don't face problem for that.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior Students are not very helpful except those who belong to the union and the secretary etc. Apart from that junior students don't have much contact with the seniors of the college, but in case juniors need anything they can always contact the seniors.

Admission

Admission is done by filling online form on the side to Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration and selection is done on the basis of merit list based on marks obtained in top 4 subjects in12th examination.

Faculty

4

The faculty the well educated, many of them are ex students of the college itself. Their teaching skills are also very satisfactory and they help the students in practicals also. The professors are also very friendly.

Placement Experience:

One of the best thing about the campus, or a thing which the students brag about, is the Placement Cell of the college. The placement cell offers various placements with different specilisation, with diversifying its area to the utmost. The quality of placement is stupendous. Areas such as Marketing, Finance, HR, and even to the students who are pursuing professional course such as CA, Actuarires, CFA, CS, and more.

Remarks:

I have chosen the college because of its reputation over years, this college has everything which a student look for,and this is the best college for commerce in our district Birbhum. The college is also not so far from my hometown, and the schedule or the timetable for the college was so comfortable, it was from 7am to 11am.so one can easily travel regularly. I regularly travelled for almost two and half hours for attending my lectures in college. The only disadvantage of my college was as it was a government college so noone takes it seriously neither college authority nor students.

Remarks:

First of all above everything our college is providing education at very much low cost compared to other institutes, even other government funded colleges. But there's a whole lot to improve in every department starting from Infrastructure, Extracurriculars, food, social activities and etc. Our college attracts most of the students from remote and sub-urban locations, so education for all those people are like blessings for life.

Remarks:

This college is good but has many loopholes in the management. Firstly classes are not taken regularly by the professors. You have to complete your syllabus on your own don't remain depending on the professors they gonna just discharge their duty. Basically in the morning section teachers never come properly. Also, the hipe that Goenka provides very good placement is also not true to that extent its just average or so before getting into the college think twice.
