Remarks

Mechanical branch is the most efficient one in the college with 120 seats well equiped labs and staffs with phd and the extra curricular activities such as Astra and Drutha are the major positive side of our college which made the college popular in national level

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum follows the KTU syllubus and the exam structure includes adequate class test with two main series exam in a semester followed by the main sem exam And adequate lab exams for each lab with viva

Placement Experience

The placement cell of the college mostly welcomes IT companies and everyone with a clear course curriculum can attend the placement ,the college also offer a platform where outsiders may attend the placement which is around 500 students

College Events

The major events celebrated are Annual sports named as Fortius ,technoculural Fest named as Aaroh followed by the arts day ,ethnical day and other minor events such as onam celevration ,holy ,teachers day ,gandhi jayanthi etc are separated

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible With three types of structures first one is for entrance based merit seat which the students have to pay an annual fee of 30000 and students with high rank only have to pay less than 7000 and the nextvis entrance based managememt seat where students have to pay annual fee of 65000 and the next is NRI seat which the management decides accordingly

Fees and Financial Aid

So many scholarships are available thosw who have reservation like Egrant that offers the student to get a monthly income of 5000 and the students who have good entrance rank and low annual income may study for free throughout the four years and that is for only selected peoples

The extra curricular activities are well organised by a team of students and staff the labs are very well maintained and efficient undertaked by a group of separate staffs, the sports named as Fortius is a good initative where all the students can expose their abilities the major extra curriculumnactivities includes the team astra and drutha those are the f1 formula racing team and buggy raceing team that is of well efficient and is a national level initiative

The senior students are all helpfull in all means and is ofcourse a ragging free campus with an ecofriendly nature seniors helps us to improve our knowledge on the course and how our future should be mouldes

Admission

I got admission in this college through Kerala Entrance Examination With a rank of 24000 and I got seat for mechanical engg with an annual fee of 65000 and this is an entrance based management seat with no reservations

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

I choose btech cse cause it was the trending course at that time and I was computer science student in my high school so it was best for me to choose btech cse at that time. And I believe it cold be a great career choice

This college is not what it seems in the first look.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Likes

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Programs and activities are good and the support
Good support for the sports and highly skill atheletes

Exams are conducted without a gap in between
There are a lot of assignment often for the students

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . It's in the final years . Many companies have visited the college and made offers for the students like Wipro,Tenzo tech , infopark etc Around 70 Percent students get placement

Likes

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Remarks:

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

An Overview of My College

I had applied to colleges under IHRD which includes the Model Engineering College, College of Engineering Chengannur and College of Engineering Attingal (CEAL) and College of Engineering Adoor. When the results of the first allotment came out, I got into CEAL. I temporarily got admission into that college and waited for the next allotment. I got into the college of Engineering Adoor in the second allotment and I took admission permanently since it was nearer to my place and I also got affordable hostel facilities. Also, there were good and on-time public transport services available. I got into the BTech Computer Science stream in the Merit Quota. To get admission in the first or second allotments themselves, you need a valid Keam score and rank anywhere between 15000 and 25000 atleast. You will be able to get into the merit quota with a good rank if not getting into the management quota is also easy. This is an oldest and well known Engineering College in Kerala since 1995. Initially it was under CUSAT University and by 2015 it was under Kerala Technical University. The Government College of Engineering, Adoor (CEA) is a college in Adoor, Pathanamthitta District, Kerala, India, located 3 km from the town centre at Manakala. It is affiliated with the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and is run under the aegis of the Institute of Human Resources Development, an institute of the government of Kerala.
