Remarks

Positive - Our college is located at hill station surrounded by greeneries. As we don't have more seniors and PG students we get more chances to learn on clinicals side. Negative - Our college is in Coorg, as we know coorg is more expensive. We have to survive in extreme climate conditions. Our college is still under construction.

Placement Experience

5

Job opportunity for doctors is good. Every medical college provide internship, so do ours. Internship experience will be good as we can serve many patients. And stipend is around 20000 rupees. Internship in a government sector is always good and better.

College Events

3

In our college we celebrate fresher's party, college annual fest, kannada rajyotsava, apron day, environment day, Ganesha Chathurthi, and many others. Every event will be filled with its own importance.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. As our college comes under government, fee structure will be monitored by state medical council and medical council of India. We also pay an additional fee for transportation facility from college to hospital.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as i know our college doesn't offer any scholarships. We apply scholarships from state and central government such as Vidyasiri, NSP, MHRD and other scholarships for SC/ST and Minorities. Our college helps with these scholarships.

Campus Life

3.5

Extracurricular activities are good and are held along with fests. These are held by students with the help of some teaching staff. Labs are well maintained. Sports is supported by our college. But there is lack of college batch trip. We hope for it in our coming days.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility is not so good, well built and near to college, far from city in a cool place, hostel staff are less in number, and many other small problems should be noticed by college authority. Hostel fee is reasonable.

Alumni/Alumna

There is no alumni currently. As our college is new there is no output of students to society. We students are planning to form a committee for alumni. We have only one batch seniors as we are second batch to this college. Our alumni association will help this college to progress further.

Admission

I went through NEET-UG 2017, I was ranked around 1700 state ranking, then I applied option entry for medical colleges where i got my current college in first round then i kept it hold and continued to 2nd round again i got my current college Kodagu institute of medical sciences where i got admitted.

Faculty

5

Teaching faculty is good, but there is some strict rules to be followed compulsorily. Infrastructure is good, but non-teaching staff is less in number. No ragging allowed. No vehicle permission for students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
