Govt Engineering College Palakkad

I like my college infrastructure. We have a single building for 5 branches out here. We have a sports complex. We have lots of co curricular activities conducted in our college. But we have a problem with the stray dogs that roam in ORU campus.

I am doing my undergraduate in the course Btech Computer Science. I like the course curriculum. We have two internal exams and a university exam. We must have 75% attendance in each subject and a minimum internal mark to appear for the university exam.

We have a placement cell in the college. They conduct several aptitude test to train the students. Several IT companies and some core companies conduct placement in college not like internship but workshops are being conducted with small registration fees.

We have Arts day for cultural events, sports meet and we also conduct technical fest and as a part of that motor expo is also conducted. We celebrate onam, Vishu, diwali, Holi, Christmas, Eid, Ethnic Day.

We have a college fees of Rs.8225 for each semester and an exam fees Rs.1700 for each semester. Comparing to other private colleges the fees in our college is very feasible. The extra expenses are also less.

Scholarships like egrantz, MCM, central sector scholarship and some other scholarships are provided by the college. We can apply for the educational loans in the name of college with a minimum of 10% interest.

We have lots of clubs in college for sports, arts, literature, IEEE, IEDC, FOSS and so on. Every student is a member of any of these clubs. There are adequate lab facilities in college. We conduct arts days and sports days for exposing student's talent.

We have alumni meet conducted each year in our college. It's named Eterno. Many of them attend the meet and share their career experience here. It gives us a motivation. We have very good bond with the seniors due to this meet.

I wrote Kerala entrance examination and achieved a rank below 10,000. I was first alotted at Govt Engineering College Wayanad. In the second allotment I got admission here, Govt Engineering College Palakkad. I got admission in merit list.

The teachers are very sincere and dedicated to their profession. They are the backbone of our success. They are very supportive not only in studies but also in co curricular activities. They are very friendly too.
