Nice Experience

The management should be helpful to the students, also the infrastructure which was the biggest drawback should have been solved in the first year only.

The curriculum was well structured. The first year was the same for all the B.tech streams. Environmental studies were incorporated into the curriculum for creating awareness for the growing environmental issues. The second-year was great enjoyment in terms of academics as there was no Mathematics subject. Signal & Systems, Electro-magnetic Induction were some of the subjects which were covered.

Earlier when we graduated, there was no placement assistance, not even internship opportunities for the students. Students of our batch graduated hopeless and naive not knowing how to commence their careers. But now placement assistance is being provided and also students are offered internship opportunities abroad.

Avaaz, which is the annual fresher's party is celebrated in our college. Other fests where celebrities are welcomed are also celebrated. Recently, Akhil-the Khaab singer and Guru Randhawa performed at the fest. There were a lot of Industrial visits. There was an Industrial visit to the BSNL office where we were shown the working of BSNL, the circuits, and networks, there was another industrial visit to the MTNL office. There we were shown the antennas that were used and their working.

The first-year fees were Rs.1,75,000. The transport fees were Rs.40,000. In the second year, the third and fourth year the fees were reduced to Rs.1,25,000, but the transport fees remained same i.e. Rs.45,000 for the other three years. Though the fee seems to be much on the higher side because of a lack of proper infrastructure which is conducive for the overall development of a student in his or her college years, there was not much we could do about it.

No, I did not avail of any scholarship or loan during my college years. But one of my friends. She submitted all her documents in the bank, the loan was sanctioned immediately after the documents were verified.

The campus life was not much happening, back at the time when I joined, the infrastructure was not developed. Also, there were no other eateries or anything near to our campus, The major drawback was the unavailability of public transport. The gender ratio can also be witnessed clearly. Boys were definitely large in numbers compared to girls. The only good thing about the campus was the sports ground. The sports ground was big and all the amenities were there.

Since we were the first batch, we are no one to comment on that. But we expected the placement in-charge in our college to offer us help and assistance in terms of placement but none of it was offered.

SRM University Sonepat's advertisement was there in the newspaper. Through the newspaper, I got to know about the University. I joined in the year 2013 and 2013 is the year in which they had commenced their first batch. Initially, for the admission process, the admission criteria were to score above 60% and additional scholarship was provided to students who scored above 85% in their 12th Boards.
