College is very good and staff is very supporting. Campus is very large and also have collaboration with many companies.

JEE MAINSCOEP is govt. Autonomous college. Mechanical engineering is oldest engineering branch started in 1912 so is very prestigious. College was established in 1854. Also faculty and infrastructure is best. Department of mechanical engineering is very big.

For 1st year students are divided in 2 groups- mechanical & electrical. College is autonomous and follows CGPA rule for marks. From 2015 biology subject is also introduced in syllabus which is very peculiar. All faculties have PhD degree from reputed institutes and are very experienced.

Some companies like Schindler, kendriyon, Calsoft, Siemens provide scholarship to students and provide internship during summer and winter vacation. Scholarship offered is Rs.30000 per year.

Placements are very good and is approximately 90% in each branch. Companies like Bajaj, Ford , Mercedes, TCS, Wipro, Mozilla etc recruit students regularly. Placement stats are available in net as well as in COEP site also.

Various events are celebrated in college throughout the year. Some of them are- MINDSPARKS(technical/Participants from 6 neighbouring states), ZEST(Sports/Participants from various IITs and 72 Institutes from neighbouring states, REGATTA(annual event of boat club), etc

College fees is 72,000 for B.tech also hostel fees is only 20,000 per year. Infrastructure is very good. For M.tech it is 95000. This fees is per year fees . since it is a government autonomous college, so its fees is very less compared to other state colleges.

Total 18 scholarships are available which are provided by different organisations and college also provide financial help to students under various schemes. SBI branch is present in college which provide easy loan facilities with interest rate of only 10.45%.

Boys-Girls ratio is about 40/60. There are not much restrictions and cafe is present inside hostel which provide 24*7 food service. So hostellife is chill. Production workshop is awsome and have a MIG21 engine. This department is huge. Cultural group of COEP consists of drama team, dance team, Street-Play and Mad-Ads team and regularly participate in various competitions.

4 students have to share a room. There is WiFi service given and also computer lab is available for hostlers. Hostel seats are about 50% and is given according to merit.

Distinguished alumni of COEP are M Visvesvaraya (Bharatratna awardee) Thomas Kaliath(Padmabhushan), CKN Patil(IEEE awardee). There are notable alumni like Vijay Kelkar, Suhash Patankar, PS Deodhar, Haresh Shah, Leela Poonawala, BG Shirke, Ibrahim Mamdani.

College follows CGPA and SGPA system for grading. It follows continuous evaluation system where marks are also allocated for different activities like sports, communication skills etc. so it is very cool.
