Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum can be categorised as, 1) Comprehensive: The syllabus and associated paradigm is very exhaustive in nature 2) Flexible: The timings of the various classes engaged for a particular course is very flexible which gives lot of time for pursuing other activities 3) Knowledge: The syllabus taught is up to date with state of the art labs and Material The examination structure can be categorised into 3 types. 1) Internal assesment exam(IAs): 30 marks exams with 1.30 hours of duration for all subjects 2)Lab exams: 3 hour duration exams for lab subjects 3)End SEM exam: 3 hour duration exams for all subjects
Placement Experience
The placement and opportunities are the key aspect of my college. The placements for every year results in almost 98% of students getting placed with package ranging from 3.5lacs-10 lacs for computer and electronics students. The college does provide internship opportunities for 2 month period. I had the privilege of interning at a semiconductor company in my area which enforced a lot of practical knowledge and skills which honed my conceptual clarity towards my subjects.
College Events
The college does have a lot of events which students look up to. We have 2 cultural and 1 technical fest every year. 1) Invento: This is a cultural fest which is celebrated once in a year and is a national level fest organised completely by the student community. This fest has around 60 events all together with a mix of cultural and technical aspects of engineering. Many popular artists and musicians visit the college for live performances. 2)Agasya: This is one of the cultural fest organised in even semesters and is branch specific as it is controlled and managed by Individual branches. 3)Erenatus: A technical paper presentation fest organised by department of electronics and communication engineering.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is categorised as follows. 1) Merit based: Feasible(65k pa) 2) Management Quota: Expensive(2lacs pa) The fee structure entirely depends on mode of admission taken to get admission into college. The fees are charged based on merit and management basis.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships like epass/Vidya Sarthi are available for those students who score a minimum GPA every semester and certain scholarships for SC/ST/OBC students available. These scholarships are given on a semester basis and are directly credited to respective student bank account.
Campus Life
My college a has spacious 5 acre sports complex where all the state and department sports are conducted every year. Labs are having state of the art facilities where all practical experiments conducted under lab supervisions.
Hostel Facilities
I haven't applied for hostel as I am a localite but having lived there I can definitely comment as follows. 1) Infrastructure: The infrastructure is commendable with 12 hostels adjacent to one another and accomodates ~600 students 2) Facilities: a) Clean drinking water facility b) 24 hrs security c) Clean rooms and bathrooms
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is the strongest with every alternate day an alumni is invited to give a talk to higher semester students. The seniors are extremely helpful as they guide the junior students and also help in projects at national and state levels.
Admission
1) Wrote an entrance exam called Common Entrance Test(CET) 2)The rank secured by me, made me eligible to take admission in my current college (KLEDrMSSCET) 3)After fulfilling the eligibility criteria,I applied for my college through online counseling 4)After 1st round of allotment,I got my preferred branch of study, that is electronics and communication engineering 5) After online allotment I went to my chosen college and paid the required fees after submitting relevant documents
Faculty
The faculty members of my college are highly qualified with 20 members having a PHD in their respective specialisations and teach with extreme levels of passion and commitment with an aim of produce next gem of engineering undergraduates capable to solve some of mankind s problems. The professors are always looking for students in their leisure hours for doubt clearing sessions and give many opportunities for projects which are sponsored by the industry and academia.
