A few pros and cons of being a student in the ECE department of IIT Roorkee are
Cons
The faculty has little interest in teaching and the pedagogy and evaluation methods adopted are obsolete.
The curriculum is old school and is irrelevant to the current industry demands.
Some labs are poorly maintained with no replacement of faulty equipment
You will lack employability because of no awareness of modern-day techniques, practices, and skills required by a good ECE Engineer.
Teaching is mostly theoretical with less practical explanation and implementation.
Students prefer noncore jobs and thus lose interest in the core ECE field
Apt of irrelevant courses need to cover just for credits
Pros
The department is located in the same building as that of CS and thus you will be sharing some courses and electives with CS students making you more employable.
You will have an edge over others because most software companies prefer ECE and CSE students over other branches.
The excellent reputation and alumni network will fetch you great research internships from abroad.
