How is the BBA/BMS at DTU? What are the placement opportunities and rankings for this branch??

T
TerraHollow Posted On : March 31st, 2026

I’m currently pursuing my BBA at DTU, and I really enjoy the course. Since I’ve been interested in businesses since 11th grade, it feels like the right fit. The faculty-to-student ratio is about 1:20, which is decent, but most of the teachers are guest lecturers. The permanent faculty are mostly PhD holders, and they do a great job, but the teaching quality can vary.

The term exams come every 1.5 months, so it keeps us on our toes! Regarding placements, about 30-35% of my batch got placed through the college placement group. The highest package offered was 13.5 LPA, while the average stands around 6 LPA. So, if you’re aiming for placements, you might need to hustle a bit.

Is doing B.Tech Software Engineering from DTU any good?

C
ConsoleConjurer Posted On : March 31st, 2026

Doing B.Tech in Software Engineering from DTU has been a solid experience for me. The curriculum is really good, and they have implemented the NEP, which keeps our courses up to date. I love how we can choose electives right from the first semester! Also, the opportunities for internships start from the first year itself, which is pretty impressive. Companies like Google and Apple come to recruit, and it’s great to see so many options. I’m aiming for a CGPA above 7.5 to secure a good internship by my third year. Plus, the campus life is vibrant with tons of fests happening throughout the year, making it a fun place to study!

Should I go for B.Tech Biotechnology in DTU or B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering in MNIT Jaipur?

S
SerendipitousScholar Posted On : March 31st, 2026

That's a big question. I would suggest you consider the B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering in MNIT Jaipur over B.Tech Biotechnology in DTU. Students in lower branches like biotechnology often face challenges with placements, regardless of the college. The industry is increasingly focused on technology and communication, making ECE a more promising option.

Is it worth doing a B.Des from DTU or not? What are its placement records and whats your experience with this college so far?

T
TheGreatDebater Posted On : March 31st, 2026

I’m currently in my first year of B.Des at DTU, and it’s been quite a ride. The campus life is vibrant with tons of cultural fests and clubs to join, which makes it fun. The faculty is mostly supportive, although some can be strict. The course has been updated recently, but I feel like it could use more practical learning opportunities.

Placement-wise, I’ve heard good things; many students land jobs in top companies like Microsoft and Google. The fee is around 2.5 lakhs per year, which totals to about 15-16 lakhs for four years, and there are scholarships available too. Overall, it seems like a good investment if you really want to dive into the design field.

What is the average Package in DTU in B.Des??

G
GalacticLeitmotif Posted On : March 31st, 2026

Short Answer - Nope. Not for the next 5 years at least.

Long Answer - There are many, MANY reasons why DTU isn’t a great option for B.Des.

  • This is the first course being offered by the entire Department of Design at DTU. Just because a college excels in engineering doesn’t mean it will be good for all other courses.
  • DTU is still in the process of hiring professors and assistant professors. The selection was scheduled for July 4, 2018. How effective do you think the faculty and their coordination will be if they’re being hired just a month before the program starts?
  • The dean comes from a reputed arts college. However, design today requires more than just artistic skills; a technical background is essential.
  • IIT Bombay decided not to conduct placements for their first graduating B.Des batch to encourage self-sufficiency and creative thinking among students. They can afford this because IDC, Powai is one of Asia’s top design colleges with a strong reputation. Other colleges like Srishti have similar approaches, and DTU can adopt this whenever they choose.

The key takeaway is that IDC and Srishti have established their credibility over time, and DTU is still in the early stages.

Which is a better career, DTU BBA/BMS or a SSC level government job??

P
PocketPenguin Posted On : March 31st, 2026

Choosing between DTU’s BBA and an SSC level government job really depends on what you want from your career. I’m leaning towards the BBA because of the diverse opportunities it offers. With the internship being compulsory in the 5th semester, I feel prepared to enter the corporate world. Companies like Bajaj and ZS Associates come to recruit us, and the highest package is a whopping 13.5 LPA! I’ve heard government jobs can be stable, but the excitement of working in business and the chance to attend events like Engifest makes my college experience so much better. The fees are a bit high, but the exposure and learning at DTU are worth it!

Is it worth doing a B.Tech Computer Engineering from DTU or not? What are its placement records and whats your experience with this college so far?

C
CrimsonHeaven Posted On : March 31st, 2026

Doing a B.Tech in Computer Engineering from DTU has been a solid choice for me. The curriculum is designed well, focusing more on practical aspects, which is what I wanted. The faculty is decent, though I wish the class sizes were smaller since we often have around 70 students per class. Placement opportunities are fantastic! Big companies like Google, Flipkart, and Samsung come for recruitment, and the placement percentage for tech branches is around 98%. Last year's highest package was an impressive 82 LPA. I’m planning to pursue an MBA after this, so I feel this degree is a great stepping stone.

What is the cutoff rank for B.Des at DTU?

S
SneakySnail Posted On : March 31st, 2026

If you're looking to join the B.Des course at DTU, make sure your UCEED rank is under 200 for the general category. Having a Delhi quota can be a game-changer because it can allow you to get in with a rank under 1000. The competition is tough, but the experience and opportunities you get here are amazing, especially in the design field.
