Admission to B.Tech at DCRUST is based on JEE Mains ranks, irrespective of your category. Since you are applying for the fee waiver category(TFW), you will get CS much higher rank as compared to the general category but it is applicable for online counselling mode only. In physical counselling, you can expect to get CS branch up to around 70k rank. Both counselling is conducted by HSTES, and you can appear for both counselling separately.

Which is a better option for CSE- SRM Ghaziabad or SRM Sonepat?

NM
Neha Mukharjee Posted On : May 4th, 2022
B.Tech Information Technology, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (2020)

For CSE, there is no clear winner between the SRM Ghaziabad and SRM Sonepat. Both are part of SRM University and offer similar education, facilities, and placement assistance.

For CSE, SRM Sonepat placements are pretty good. According to the placement highlights, the CSE average CTC is INR 2.55 LPA. While SRM Ghaziabad CSE average package is INR 3.5 LPA. So, you won’t miss out on much, if you choose one of these institutes over the other.

Should I go to a private college like PES/VIT or a newer IIIT (Guwahati, Kota, Sri City, Kurnool, etc.) for CSE?

AG
Aniket Gupta Posted On : May 4th, 2021
PES University

Your answer entirely depends upon what your requirements are.

  • Two essential things that you would require as a CSE student most of the time are a good internet connection and a laptop.
  • Another truth is that just like any other college, you would have to surf YouTube to learn new stuff. This has nothing to do with the faculties. Nevertheless, the quality of teaching in institutes of national importance like IIITs is far better than in private institutes.
  • As far as the new IIITs are concerned, they would ensure you are given the finest of education along with decent placement packages. But at these institutes, you will not have many facilities for extra-curricular.

Private colleges do offer good infrastructure and campus life but the teacher to student ratio, the quality of education generally do not compensate for the huge amount they charge. But if you look at IIITs, the student-to-teacher ratio is fine.

Private colleges are always a gold option for the "fun" factor. But if you are looking for fine education quality, IIITs should be your first priority.

Just a side note, this doesn't mean that IIITs won't include the "fun" factor you're looking for. It simply won't have that great of an experience overall. Plus the infrastructure would not be very impressive either. But the quality of education you would find here would be unmatched.

Which is better for computer engineering: Vidyalankar Institute of Technology or KJ Somaiya?

AD
Akhil Desai Posted On : September 4th, 2021
B.Tech Information Technology, K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering (2021)

I have friends from both Vidyalankar Institute of Technology and KJ Somaiya. Based on the conversations I had with them, I will suggest you choose KJ Somaiya for a CS degree.

Here are some of the reasons why you should prefer KJ CE/IT over Vidyalankar CE /IT.

  • KJ Somaiya is an autonomous institute. So their course curriculum is quite flexible.
  • Vacations will be quite long. You can utilize this time to do internships in some IT firms.
  • The CS and IT department of KJ Somaiya has amazing CSI and other councils working for them.
  • KJ Somaiya has a vast campus. The sports facilities offered at the institute are also quite great.
  • The placement average for KJSCE is 100% for CS IT branches. As it is an autonomous institute more recruiting companies visit the institute for placements.

Vidyalankar is not a bad choice either. Both colleges have their own advantages. Here is a brief comparison of the two institutes.

Parameters  KJ Somaiya Vidyalankar Institute of Technology
Average CTC  5 LPA  4.16 LPA
Highest CTC 18.75 LPA  7 LPA
Major recruiters  Microsoft, IBM, Vodafone TCS, Just Dial, Axis Bank
Course fee  11.35 lakhs  6.03 lakhs

You should do your own research on the institute and choose according to your convenience.

As a student of BITS Hyderabad, I can assure you that such claims are baseless and untrue.

Around 80% of the crowd at our college consists of students who have cleared JEE Advanced, and 60% ranked within 10k.

Moreover, the students of BITS Hyderabad perform extremely well in studies and extracurriculars. The students shine in various programs and competitions like - SpaceX Hyperloop, GSoC, Topcoder, SAE BAJA, CANSAT, SA Cup, etc.

The campus has a rich tech and research culture, and the placement stats are getting better with each year. You can become a part of international clubs like SEDS and SAE, and other clubs like CRUX, ADASTRA and ARC.

Thus, you can consider BITS Hyderabad for your B.E. CS without any hesitation.

PESIT South Campus and PES University both offer decent programs with good placement opportunities for CSE and EEE respectively. The few factors that you need to consider while choosing the better option is given below.

Admission: The bachelor’s in technology program with a specialization in CSE and EEE are 4-years integrated degree programs. The total numbers of seats available for CSE are 720, whereas the total numbers of seats available for EEE are 120.

  • The selection criteria for admission to the CSE and EEE program is that the candidate should have passed grade 10+2 with an aggregate of 45% along with the submission of the score of KCET, which is the entrance exam that is to be given to get selected directly to the course.

  • The fee ranges from around 3.3 Lacs per annum for the course offered by the university in CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) and EEE (Electronics and Electrical Engineering).

Placements: The placement rate of the university stands at 100% providing the placement to all.

  • Various companies visit the campus to provide the placement opportunities to the students in Amazon, Cisco, Mahindra, TESCO, LinkedIn, Flipkart, JP Morgan, Microsoft, ITC, Nestle, Bosch, Oracle, HP, Deloitte, EY, HDFC, Morgan Stanley, Genpact, etc.
