The ranking for JUET and Manipal, Jaipur by NIRF is 86 and 151. However, choosing the best course in a specific college depends upon your level of interest, eligibility, cut-off rank, placement cell, etc.

Admissions and Fee: Both colleges offer BTech courses for CSE and ECE.

• The eligibility for the courses is the same, i.e, 10+2 with 75% and JEE Mains.

• The cut-off for the ECE course in Manipal, Jaipur college is 6843. But there is no specific cut-off for JUET CSE.

• The fee is a bit higher for Manipal college than the JUET, Guna. The annual course fee at Manipal is 3.19 lakhs, while the same at JUET is 2.04 lakhs.

Placements:

JUET-

• The highest salary of JUET is 41 LPA while the average salary received by the students is 3.5 LPA.

• Several companies are visiting the JUET campus. Out of which, few of them are Amazon, Google, TCS, HCL, One Direct, Trident, Tata Consultancy, Infosys, Geeks for Geeks, Interview Bit, Central Research Laboratory, and many more.

Manipal Jaipur-

• The top companies visiting the Manipal, Jaipur college are Dell, Amazon, Accenture, Cult Fit, HDFC Bank, Wipro, Philips, ABB, Shell Technologies, and many more.

• The ECE placement rate of this college is 90%.

• And the highest and lowest salaries of the college are 42 LPA and 5.4 LPA.

• The scope for both the scores at these colleges is too high.

It is difficult to compare two different institutes for two different courses. As a course, CSE has better opportunities than ECE. However, you should choose the course you are more interested in and the institute according to that.

According to the NIRF ranking in the field of B.Tech, Manipal University is ranked 68th and Chandigarh University was ranked 102nd in all over India. The majority of the details are quite similar in both the universities including their recruiters.

Admission:

Manipal University:

• The minimum eligibility criteria required from the students is to qualify 12th from any recognized board with at least 70% of marks in the science stream.

• Whosoever qualifies for the minimum eligibility, needs to get the marks equal to or higher than the college's cutoff of JEE Mains.

• Every year cut-off for admission remains in between 1254-3200 for other states, and 1110-4050 for the home state.

Total fees for a CSE degree was approximately 12 lacs.

Chandigarh University:

• Similarly in Chandigarh University, candidates must complete 10+2 with PCM from any recognized board with 75% marks.

• For getting admission, candidates should have scored the cut-off based marks in JEE Mains which ranges between 1244-4210.

Total course fees which include all the four years of academics are 6.4 lacs which is lesser than the Manipal.

Placements:

Manipal University:

• The highest salary offered in the CSE degree was 36 lacs per annum wherein the average package given to the students is 4.3 lacs.

• Most of the famous companies like Adobe, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Paytm, Wipro are the recruiters of the university.

• The placement rate inside the department of CSE was 87% last year.

Chandigarh University:

• The placement rate in the CSE department is the highest in comparison with other departments of the university and was 92%.

• Recruiter list consists of some very famous MNCs and firms like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle, Kraft, Infosys, etc with the highest package of 51 lacs per annum and average 4.3 lacs per annum.

Faculty:

When it comes to faculty, both the university shows similar performance as both of them are having the majority of the professors with Ph.D. degrees and appreciatable experience.

The infrastructure and facilities provided at both institutes are great and at the same level as each-other. Both the colleges are renowned for their teaching, opportunities provided, and placements. The choice is tough but the mentioned points will help you to make a decision as per the requirement and preferences.

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology seems a better choice to go with. Having cracked the SRM University Entrance Test, some of my friends still chose ECE with Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. SRM has an edge in terms of placement opportunities due to it being located in the city.

Faculty:

• The faculty members are supportive as well as encouraging. They provide the required guidance to the students.
• On being approached to guide on a project my friends were working on, the faculty was helpful in commencing the project and also gave guidance on completing an IEEE research paper.

Location, Campus, and Facilities:

• The campus of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology is situated in the middle of the Himalayas. It has a true serene charm of its own. Away from the hustle-bustle of city life, this place is calm and gives you the chance to explore new things.
• Also, there are many options to party and have a good time for that much-needed break around the college campus.
• A stellar sports complex is being built on the campus for all the sports enthusiasts with facilities such as a fully automated temperature-controlled swimming pool, bowling alley, squash courts, and much more.

Student Clubs:

• There are various student-run clubs in Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology where you can learn and discover many things.
• Some of these clubs include The Movie Club, SMITMUN (on the concept of United Nations), Reverbs (a socio-literary club), etc.

Placements:

• There is a dedicated Training and placement cell to help you grab good placement opportunities.
• The placements are more inclined towards IT Companies, some of the recruiting companies include TCS, Dell, Wipro, Sony, etc.

All of the above factors are the reason for my inclination in recommending Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. The students get a chance to participate in off-campus drives of other colleges. The placement rate at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology is 80-85% with the efforts of their stellar TnP Cell.

Manipal University is a self-financed university of private status, while Bharati Vidyapith is a deemed university. Both of them enjoy a highly reputed NAAC accreditation and rankings from esteemed associations. The choice between the two institutes for CS or IT depends on certain basic factors some of which are discussed below in detail.

Ranking:

• BVP holds an A category in NAAC third cycle conducted in 2017. It has more than 23000 students with 1600+ faculty members. It is a diversified university with students from 48 countries.

• Manipal University has the 6th rank among all universities in the north zone. Best University in Rajasthan Award 2020 is also rewarded to the institution.

Academics & Fee Structure:

• Manipal University offers B.Tech CS /IT at a fee structure of Rs. 12.01 Lakhs as a full-time course of 4 years duration.

• The university also offers a B.Tech Lateral program of 3 years at Rs. 4.27 Lakhs

• BVP University offers a B.Tech program for these two specializations at Rs. 4.8 Lakhs.

Eligibility:

The details about the selection process are as follows.

• Manipal University offers a minimum criterion of 10+2 with 55% marks. MET /JEE score is mandatory for B.tech admission. A direct admission facility is available but that solely depends on the marks obtained.

• Bharati Vidyapith accepts 10+2 with 50% marks and a BVP common entrance test score.

Placement Details:

The placement facts related to both universities are as follows.

The choice can be done on the factors mentioned above. Bharati Vidyapith is a credible option but Manipal outshines in the most important domain which is placements. However, Manipal is a good option for pursuing CS/IT.

IIIT Nagpur is way better than VIIT Pune on the basis of overall performance including faculty, placement, and other activities. Both the institutes have collaboration with many reputed research institutes like TIFR, IUUCA, and various Electronics and IT industries from India as well as other countries.

Faculty:

VIIT Pune has 30 highly qualified faculty members for computer engineering whereas the department of electronics and communication at IIIT Nagpur have proficient faculties along with the several visiting professors from VNIT.

Laboratory:

The laboratories are well equipped at both of the institutes for computer engineering and electronics and communication engineering. But IIIT Nagpur upgrades their laboratories for electronics and communication from time to time to provide high-end computational and electronics facilities.

Admission process:

The admission process is based on academic records and entrance examination scores.IIIT Nagpur takes admission through JEE Mains whereas, VIIT Pune accepts both JEE Main score and MHT-CET scores. The JEE Mains closing cutoff for the programs in 2019 is as follows.

• ECE at IIIT Nagpur- 35236

• CSE at VIIT- 2648

The intake for B.Tech Computer Engineering at VIIT Pune is about 180 whereas at IIIT Nagpur intake for the B.Tech Electronics and communication program is 120.

Course fee:

The course fee for B.Tech in computer science engineering at VIIT Pune is 1.5 lakhs per year and at IIIT Nagpur for B.Tech ( Electronics and communication engineering) the course fee is about 2.35 lakhs per year.

Placement:

Both VIIT Pune and IIIT Nagpur have their own training and placement cell. They help students to prepare for placement by conducting Aptitude training, tests, and GD/PI.

VIIT Pune-

• According to the placement statistics of 2019, the highest and lowest CTC offered to the CSE students was 15 lakh and 2.4 lakh.

• Top recruiters are Accenture Ltd, TCS, Wipro, Mindtree, Bajaj Auto, Infosys, Cognizant, etc.

IIIT Nagpur-

• The placement highlights of 2020 show the highest CTC and average CTC received by the students was 20 LPA and 8.5 LPA.

• Major recruiters at the institute are TCS, CleverTap, Wiley NXT, Virtusa, L & T InfoTech, Siemens, Arm technology, etc.

It is difficult to compare two institutes for two different courses. As a course, CSE has better opportunities than ECE. However, you should choose the course you are more passionate about and the institute according to that.

With a rank of 5897 in the TS EAMCET, the colleges you will get chances for getting admission are as follows.

Other colleges can be KMIT, MGIT. Keep in mind, however, that you can expect a seat in the mentioned institutes after one or two rounds of counseling. You may bag the seat after two rounds of counseling in case of the higher ranked institutes.

For OC students, you may get seats in CVR College of Engineering, Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology, KMIT.
