Textile at IIT Delhi can potentially lead to jobs in IT and even MBA opportunities!
However, ECE is generally considered a stronger course. I don’t have much insight about IIT Dhanbad.
Here are some points to consider:
Students from IIT Delhi's Textile program have gone on to become leaders in the IT field and entrepreneurs running successful IT companies in India and abroad.
IIT Delhi for B.Tech + M.Tech in Chemical Engineering has a strong faculty with many PhDs, but the teaching methods might not meet everyone's expectations. The campus life is vibrant with great facilities, though hostel food can be a downside. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur offers a Computer Science Engineering course with a more balanced workload and excellent internship opportunities, making it easier to manage alongside extracurricular activities. Both colleges have impressive placement records, but IIT Kharagpur edges ahead with a slightly higher average package and a more engaging curriculum. I’d personally recommend IIT Kharagpur for the Computer Science Engineering course if you’re looking for a dynamic learning experience paired with strong industry connections, while IIT Delhi is a solid choice if you are passionate about Chemical Engineering and can handle the demands of that field.
IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Industrial & Production Engineering offers a vibrant campus life with numerous fests and a supportive faculty-student ratio, making it a great place for holistic development. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering also boasts a strong curriculum with timely assessments, but it seems to emphasize a slightly more competitive environment. Both colleges have impressive placement records, but IIT Delhi appears to attract more high-profile companies like Google and Microsoft, which could lead to higher packages. Personally, I would lean towards IIT Delhi for its overall student experience and opportunities, especially if you're keen on a well-rounded education and networking. If you're more inclined towards a rigorous technical environment, IIT Kharagpur might be a better fit.
IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering offers a robust curriculum with abundant internship opportunities from top companies like Amazon and Google, which can lead to high-paying job placements. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering, while unique, may not have the same breadth of job prospects in a tech-driven market. The internship training at IIT Delhi by industry experts further enhances employability, making it a more favorable option for students looking to maximize their career outcomes. If you're leaning towards a career in tech, go for IIT Delhi; however, if you have a strong passion for naval architecture, IIT Kharagpur could be your choice.
Both IIT Delhi for B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and IIT Kharagpur for B.Tech in Industrial Engineering offer unique experiences. IIT Delhi has a strong faculty and a rigorous curriculum that encourages independent problem-solving, but the campus life can feel a bit cramped due to smaller rooms. In contrast, IIT Kharagpur might have a more relaxed atmosphere with a diverse range of extracurricular activities, though the teaching quality is reported to be less impressive.
If you’re passionate about electrical engineering and prefer a more competitive environment, IIT Delhi would be the better choice. However, if you value campus life and want to explore industrial engineering in a slightly more laid-back setting, IIT Kharagpur could be a great fit. Personally, I’d lean towards IIT Delhi for its reputation and focus on core engineering subjects.
IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Power and Automation) offers a strong tie between core engineering roles and coding, making it attractive for diverse career paths. With an average package of around 15 lakhs and the potential for internships yielding up to 25 lakhs, it has excellent placement opportunities. Meanwhile, IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering boasts an even higher average package of 20-25 lakhs, and a solid internship program with around 60-70% placement success. Both colleges have robust placement stats, but IIT Kharagpur edges ahead with slightly better averages and a wider range of internship offers. If you're inclined towards a blend of coding and engineering, choose IIT Delhi; if you prefer a robust mechanical background with better placement prospects, go for IIT Kharagpur.
To compare the two situations, let's look at the facts:
IIT Kharagpur
IIT BHU
IIT Delhi is definitely a better choice, not just because it's closer to home, but because you don't have a specific interest. In that case, IIT Delhi is the best option for you!
Here’s why:
So, if you’re unsure about your path, IIT Delhi is the way to go!
All the perks available to B.Tech students are also available to dual degree students. All the companies that recruit B.Tech graduates also consider them. Plus, you receive a stipend of Rs. 12,000 per month in your final year. So, why not spend an extra year to earn an additional degree?
However, if you’re not planning to stay in this field, then pursuing another degree might not be worthwhile.
Another point to consider is that Delhi is an amazing metro city with plenty of weekend getaway options. Manali, Shimla, Rishikesh are all nearby! I'm leaning towards IIT Delhi, and it's a good idea to connect with someone currently studying this course there. Just message me if you want an introduction!
IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering offers a robust curriculum focused on AI/ML, which is highly relevant today, while IIT Kharagpur's B.Tech in Electrical Engineering has a strong reputation as well. Campus life at IIT Delhi seems vibrant with plenty of extracurricular activities, and the faculty is highly experienced and supportive, which is essential for mentorship. However, IIT Kharagpur also has a good faculty and social environment, though it may not have the same level of industry connections as IIT Delhi.
Given the strong internship opportunities and the tech-driven focus at IIT Delhi, I would personally lean towards IIT Delhi for those looking to dive into the tech field, while IIT Kharagpur would be great for those interested in a broader engineering foundation.
