Your life will change after getting into IISc Bangalore CS after cracking GATE.

People at IISc talk with reasoning and logic. The conversations are very enriching and fruitful.

1. You will notice people from CS discussing Math problems on a walk. People also discuss each other’s research work. You will develop the same habit during your time at IISc Bangalore.
2. Top researchers like Turing award winners and CS giants frequently give speeches in the main building or the JN Tata Auditorium. Through these visits, you will receive knowledge in various areas of Technology, Science, and Management. In the past, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Raghuram Rajan, and Prof. Silvio Micali (Turing winner) have honored the IISc Bangalore students with their visits.
3. Industry leaders visit CSA and SERC departments for collaborations and to give talks. Some notable individuals who regularly visit the department include- Google Managers, Microsoft Research Leads, Flipkart CEO, and IBM Research Top Managers. Through collaborations, you will get to interact and work with these people.
4. Those who get the opportunity to become a T.A. develop leadership and teaching skills. To be able to impart knowledge to others, they work on and polish their knowledge of the subject.
5. You will learn time management. There will be many courses with tough and time-consuming assignments.
6. IISc Bangalore has a great reputation which will be linked to your name.

Thus, if you get the chance to join the CS department at IISc Bangalore, grab the opportunity without hesitation. You will get to learn a lot and your life will completely change while at IISc Bangalore.

• Campus: Compared to many other NITs in India, the NIT Jalandhar campus is good. It has a good infrastructure and a land area of 153 acres. Completely operational green campus. It is situated outside of the city. Nearly 20 km separate the ISBT Jalandhar campus from the city railway station. The closest market for your daily needs shopping is in the city of Bidhipur.

• Food: The hostel food is standard. but it's still superior to a lot of NITs. On campus, there are some canteen facilities. You are free to eat whatever you want there.

• Hostels: It is a good idea. This year, they are getting better. Additionally, as a student, you'll find it to be generally comfortable.

• Timings: First-year students have a limited number of timings. After 8 o'clock at night, they must leave. After the first year, nobody will be able to stop them from wandering around at night.

• Sports: The facilities include basketball, volleyball, and football courts. A badminton court and other sporting supplies can be found in the gym. There is a modest but useful gym there.
• Faculty: All but a few majors have excellent faculties.

LHMC is an amazing place to spend the best days of your life. She met some exceptionally talented students and made awesome friends in a short period of time. She absolutely loved how the seniors were so cooperative and introduced them to societies bringing all like-minded people together. The teachers at LHMC are not addressed as Sir or Maam, rather they are called Di. 

The city life here is even better and you can always sneak out to have delicious food at Connaught Place or go for a late-night walk around CP. There are concerts around the year and many festivals and club events make the overall campus life dynamic.

So, life at LHMC is very vibrant and exciting!

There are no fixed passing marks out of 77 although you have to score above 40 marks overall. Scoring less than 40 will get you an F Grade which is not acceptable. The passing marks also depend on the minimum marks your professor will be giving in internals. 

Usually, professors always give at least 10-12 marks in internals so to stay on the safe side, try to score at least 30 marks in the theory paper out of 70. If you follow this technique, you won't have a single backlog in 4 years and get a BTech degree with 8+CDGPA.

My friend visited AIIMS Delhi for the first time in her life for an open counseling session of MBBS. When she finally stood before the no. 1 medical college in India, rightly called the Harvard of the East, she felt goosebumps and could not believe her eyes. A strange feeling took over her as she looked at the massive campus and fast-paced life there.

It clearly was the epitome of the best healthcare services, the patient inflow a solid proof of the same. She understood why exactly this institute is the dream college of many. However, she knew her rank would not allow her to get admission here so she ended up at AIIMS Hyderabad.

As she took her leave and gave the buildings a last glance, she pledged to come back as a PG student. But life has other plans for her. Recently when I met her, she seemed quite satisfied and said that over the years she came to realize that it is not the institution but your knowledge that makes you a good Doctor.

Honestly, IIM Kashipur does not do justice to the other IIMs in its worth. Under the pretext of being an IIM it has gained little fame but the reality is far from different. My cousin got an offer from IIM Kashipur but decided against joining it. The reasons that led him to make this decision are

• Location: IIM Kashipur experiences some major location disadvantages. Neither is it connected to central India nor does it offer a diversity of locations. 
• Low ROI: After spending a massive amount of IIM Kashipur ( INR 1730000), everyone wants a high-paying job. But the entry-level offers available at IIM Kozhikode were below average.
• Weak alumni base: The alumni base at IIM Kashipur is rather weak as compared to other IIMs.
• Less number of reputed companies come for placements: The biggest brands either don’t come to the campus of IIM Kashipur or offer limited roles only.

So if the placement numbers attract you here, you are more than welcome. But remember IIM Kashipur is not at par with other IIMs.
