XLRI, Jamshedpur PGDM (GM) Batch hosted the KRONOS-CHRO Conclave, focusing on 'HR 4.0: Thriving with AI and Metaverse Innovations.' The event featured prominent HR professionals and an Inaugural Address by Fr. Donald D’ Silva.

New Delhi: The Conclave Committee of XLRI, Jamshedpur, for the PGDM (GM) Batch 2023-24, orchestrated the KRONOS – CHRO Conclave under the theme "HR 4.0: Thriving with AI and Metaverse Innovations." This gathering brought together a panel of seasoned HR professionals who shared their insights on the AI and metaverse landscape. 

Moderating the XLRI session were Pranav Verma, Sugandha Singh, and Md. Shadam Alam, while the roles of hosts and co-hosts were taken on by Anukriti Srivastava, Harsh Vardhan, Shalini Bhardwaj, and Udit Gupta. 

The event was initiated with an Inaugural Address delivered by Fr. Donald D’ Silva, who expressed his gratitude to the speakers for their valuable time. He formally inaugurated the event, fostering discussions on AI, the Metaverse, and virtual workspaces. Fr. D’ Silva also acknowledged the commendable efforts of the committee members in organizing the KRONOS Conclave.

  • The inaugural panel discussion, titled "AI Ethics in HR: Striking the Balance," showcased prominent speakers who shared their insights. 
  • Md. Rashid Jaffrey, Chief People Officer at Tata Steel Long Products, highlighted the significance of preserving privacy and fostering a conducive culture while integrating technological advancements and data-driven decision-making into HR practices. 
  • Ramakrishna Vyamajala, CHRO at Home First, examined AI's influence on HR strategies, highlighting the need to harmonize existing talent with new recruits.
  • Ruchira Bhardwaj (CHRO, Kotak Life) addressed AI biases and advocated for collaboration and data protection.
  • Abhishek Tiwari (Senior VP HR, Tech Mahindra) focused on AI in talent acquisition, virtual offices, and performance management, stressing personalized learning and trend monitoring.
  • Neha Dixit (VP-HR, Simpl) highlighted tailored training and dark data's significance for HR insights.
  • Shanil Verma (CHRO, Turtlemint) explored AI as an assessment tool, legal aspects, and privacy concerns in organizations.

The Second Panel Discussion, titled "Upskilling and Reskilling in the Metaverse Era," featured a distinguished panel of speakers who shared their insights:

  • Rupesh Tripathi, Partner HR at KPMG GS, highlighted the utilization of the Metaverse for remote training in challenging environments and the potential of AR/VR for personalized learning.
  • Ruchi Dhawan Sharma, VP & Head HR at Indigo, delved into technology adoption within the aviation sector and the role of AR/VR in training customer service agents.
  • Ashish Bhalla, Director HR at HCL Technologies, emphasized the importance of upskilling in a constantly evolving environment, emphasizing alignment and ROI indicators.
  • Gaurav Saini, CHRO at HMD Global Nokia Phones- APAC & MEA, discussed the acquisition of diverse skills and the need for upskilling to adapt to various roles.
  • Gunjan Joshi, Director Talent Acquisition at Trident Ltd., explored the efficiency of technology in eliminating redundant job roles, citing examples from the manufacturing sector.
  • Karan Lakhani, CHRO at Tata Steel Downstream Products Ltd., addressed the integration of technology with human training and the potential of VR+AI for comprehensive training packages.

XLRI's KRONOS - CHRO Conclave: Third Panel Discussion 

The Third Panel Discussion, titled "Managing Diversity and Inclusion in Virtual Workspaces," featured an esteemed panel of speakers:

  • Jaidip Chatterjee, CHRO at SREI, examined AI and Metaverse solutions within complex cultures, highlighting their relevance in audits and financial risk analytics.
  • Soumitra Das, Global CHRO at Redington Ltd., underscored the significance of digital algorithms for enhancing competitiveness and discussed emerging trends in virtual workspace dynamics, culture, and leadership.
  • Kanchan Banerjee, CHRO at Vedant Fashions- Manyavar MoheY, delved into AI's role in decision-making processes and HR management.
  • Priya Ranjan, VP HR at JSW Steel, explored the insights generated by data-driven approaches and AI's contribution to fostering diversity and inclusivity.
  • Saswati Sinha, Head Human Resource- India & MEA at Evalueserve, highlighted the importance of pulse surveys and feedback mechanisms for data analysis and promoting regional and cultural understanding.
  • Saurabh Sharma, Global Head of Talent Acquisitions at OLX Autos, discussed the subject of gender diversity and underscored the value of human interactions in this context.

The event concluded with the announcement of the victors of the KRONOS 2023 Case Competition, generously sponsored by Nkubate Coaching and Consulting. In their Vote of Thanks speech, the hosts extended their heartfelt appreciation to the esteemed guests.
