Candidates must have completed Class 12 from a recognized board (CBSE, ISC, or State Boards). Most programs require an aggregate of 65% or above in the best four academic subjects (including English). Engineering applicants must have Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.

This assessment is conducted as an online home-proctored test, offering flexibility through six cycles running from January 2026 to July 2026. The primary goal of the SNUSAT is to measure a candidate's proficiency in quantitative reasoning and logical reasoning. Once an applicant selects the SNUSAT route and completes the application payment, they gain access to sample questions via their personal application dashboard to assist in their preparation.

In addition to the general aptitude test, students applying for B.Tech programs and B.Sc. Computer Science are required to take the Academic Proficiency Test (APT). This specific component is designed to evaluate the candidate's core subject knowledge in Physics and Mathematics. Both tests follow a structured format: the SNUSAT provides 45 minutes per section for Quantitative and Logical Reasoning, while the APT allocates 30 minutes per section for Mathematics and Physics.
