According to the official admission notification published by Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Jais, Amethi, the institute has opened Round 1 applications for its M.Sc programmes for the academic year 2026–27. RGIPT is an Institution of National Importance established by an Act of Parliament under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. Admission Basis: IIT JAM 2026

RGIPT accepts IIT JAM 2026 scores for M.Sc admissions as a result-sharing institute. The JAM 2026 exam covered seven papers: Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH). Results were declared on March 19, 2026, and score cards are available for download on the JOAPS portal at jam2026.iitb.ac.in.

Only candidates who have secured marks at or above the qualifying cut-off in their respective category in JAM 2026 are eligible to apply. No additional written test or interview is conducted by RGIPT for the M.Sc selection; admission is based solely on JAM scores and fulfilment of eligibility requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold an undergraduate degree (or be in the final year of their undergraduate programme at the time of application) in a relevant science discipline. The Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs) vary by subject paper and programme. In general:

  • Candidates must have completed a B.Sc or equivalent undergraduate degree in a relevant subject area corresponding to their JAM paper.
  • Final-year students can apply but must submit proof of having cleared their qualifying degree within the deadline stipulated by RGIPT at the time of admission.
  • There is no age limit restriction for JAM-based M.Sc admissions.

Reservation benefits are applicable as per Government of India norms, covering SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, and PwD categories.
