Presidency University has begun undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. Eligible candidates can submit applications online until June 1, 2026, for BA and BSc Honours programs. The admission test is scheduled between June 12 and 14.

Presidency University Begins UG Admission 2026

Presidency University, one of India's most distinguished institutions with a legacy dating back to 1817, has opened undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. You can apply online through the official admission portal starting May 19, 2026, until June 1, 2026. The application fee is INR 500 per application, which must be paid online to complete your application.

The Presidency University offers 17 BA and BSc Honours programs across humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Admission is based on academic merit for Category A subjects and admission tests for Category B subjects. Merit lists for Category A subjects will be published on June 9, 2026, while Category B merit lists will be released on June 24, 2026. The university follows NEP 2020 guidelines and offers flexible exit options including certificates, diplomas, and degrees.

Available Programs

The university offers BA Honours in Bengali, English, Hindi, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, and Performing Arts. BSc Honours programs include Biotechnology, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Geology, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics. Intake varies from 17 to 126 seats depending on the program. Reservation policies of West Bengal State Higher Education Institutions apply for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

You must have passed Class 12 (10+2) from a recognized board with minimum aggregate scores ranging from 60% to 70% depending on the program. For BA programs, minimum 60% is required for general category, while BSc programs require 70%. SC/ST candidates need 45-52.5%, OBC candidates 54-63%, and PwD candidates 57-66.5%. English is mandatory, and you must have studied at least five recognized subjects.

Visit presiuniv.ac.in/web/admission.php and click on the online application link. Register with your email and mobile number. Fill in your personal and educational details carefully. Upload your recent photo, signature, and relevant documents. Select your preferred programs in order of preference. Pay the application fee of INR 500 online. Submit your application before June 1, 2026.

Selection Process

Category A subjects (Bengali, English, Hindi, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Performing Arts) use academic merit based on a specific formula considering Class 10 and 12 marks. Category B subjects (History, Political Science, Chemistry, Economics, Life Sciences, Statistics) require admission tests on June 12-14, 2026. Tests comprise 50 MCQ questions with 2 marks for correct answers and 0.5 marks deducted for wrong answers.
