JCECEB has opened registration for BTech Lateral Entry 2026. Apply by June 12 at engglateralcet.jceceb.org.in. Written test is on June 28, 2026 (Sunday), 10 AM to 12:30 PM.

As per the official notification published by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB), online registration for the Engineering Entrance Competitive Examination (Lateral Entry) 2026 commenced on May 19, 2026. The exam is the gateway to direct second-year (third semester) admission to B.Tech programmes at engineering institutions in Jharkhand. Candidates can apply at engglateralcet.jceceb.org.in.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet any one of the following conditions to apply for JCECEB Lateral Entry 2026:
- Passed a minimum 3-year or 2-year (Lateral Entry) Diploma in any branch of Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates).
- Passed a B.Sc. degree from a UGC-recognised university with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories), and passed Class 12 with Mathematics as a subject.
- Passed B.Voc. or a 3-year D.Voc. programme in the same or allied sector.

Candidates from states other than Jharkhand, including female candidates from other states, are treated as General category and must pay Rs 900. Fee payment is accepted only through online mode (credit card, debit card, or net banking). Fees once paid are non-refundable.
Exam Pattern
The written test is conducted in OMR-based offline mode, with MCQ-type questions. The exam is for a total of 150 marks, with 1 mark for each correct answer and a deduction of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. The duration is 2 hours 30 minutes.

Unlike many state lateral entry exams that restrict eligibility to Diploma holders only, JCECEB Lateral Entry 2026 also allows B.Sc. graduates who studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level to apply directly for second-year B.Tech admission. This opens an additional pathway for science graduates seeking to transition into engineering degree programmes.

- Complete registration. Your Registration Number will be sent via SMS and email. Check spam if not received in the inbox.
- Log in using the credentials received and complete the application form.
- Pay the application fee online through credit card, debit card, or net banking.
- Submit the form before June 12, 2026. Do not share your login credentials with anyone.
