Vice-Chancellor Gurmeet Singh presided over the inauguration of nine new buildings across Puducherry and Karaikal campuses, which was a significant infrastructure upgrade for Pondicherry University.
New Delhi: As part of its infrastructure enhancement, Pondicherry University has inaugurated nine buildings across its campuses in Puducherry and Karaikal.
Gurmeet Singh, the Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University, inaugurated these new structures during a brief ceremony held at the university on the evening of November 23, 2023.
As per an official statement, the primary campus has witnessed the addition of six new academic structures, housing the Departments of Biotechnology, Politics and International Studies, Physical Education and Sports, History, English, and Computer Science.

In addition, the Kannagi Girls Hostel and Birsa Munda Boys Hostel have been introduced. Simultaneously, the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Boys Hostel was inaugurated on the Karaikal campus during the same event.
Some of the prominent dignitaries who graced the inaugural occasion were K. Tharanikkarasu, Director (Studies), Rajeev Jain OSD (CCR), Rajneesh Bhutani, Registrar, D. Lazar, Finance Officer, Sadanand G Swami, Controller of Examination, M. Vijayakumar, Librarian, Nanda Kishor (Public Relations), along with deans from various schools, heads of departments, and officers.
