Pondicherry University Vice-Chancellor K Tharanikkarasu chaired the function and headed the successful organisation by the university.
New Delhi: Sports Directorate of Pondicherry University organized a marathon themed 'Run for holistic development: Road for a healthy nation' at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, aimed at shaping India's future.
Vice-Chancellor K Tharanikkarasu chaired the function, emphasizing the responsibility of Pondicherry University students in championing the government's noble mission. A Praveen, the University's Deputy Director of Sports, extended a warm welcome to the gathering while M Elayaraja, the Sports Director, efficiently coordinated the program.
The inauguration saw Puducherry's Home Minister, A Namassivayam, setting the event in motion. His address on 'India as a developed nation in 2047' highlighted the pivotal role of the youth in propelling the mission of Viksit Bharat @2047. He commended Pondicherry University's young athletes and students for actively engaging in this nation-building endeavor.
Approximately 300 participants, comprising students, faculty, officers, and staff, enthusiastically contributed to the Viksit Bharat @2047 Marathon. Viksit Bharat @2047, spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aspires to transform India into a developed nation by its 100th year of independence in 2047.
The vision encompasses multifaceted development facets, encompassing economic prosperity, societal advancement, environmental sustainability, and robust governance. This initiative aims to involve the youth actively in crafting the nation's plans, priorities, and aspirations through 'Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth.'
