Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law announced the date of the Ph.D. Entrance Test on October 22, 2024. The exam will be conducted on October 27, 2024, at 10 am and candidates must report to the exam centre by 9 am. Structure of the Examination

  • The entrance test will consist of a written examination of three hours, carrying a total of 70 marks.
  • Candidates applying for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions have to write the essay of Intent within 1 hour.

Structure of the Paper

The Ph.D. Entrance Test is divided into four sections:

Part I – Research Methodology: This section will consist of 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on Research Methodology. Each question will be of 1 mark and there will be a total of 20 marks.

Part II – Subject-Specific Questions: Candidates will be required to answer three descriptive questions from their chosen subject of specialization. Each question will carry 15 marks so the total the total marks will be 45.

Part III – Essay Writing: Candidates will need to write an essay of 10 marks. The purpose of this is to test the candidate’s ability to think critically and express ideas clearly.

Part IV – Personal Interview: The interview will be evaluated based on communication skills and subject knowledge, and it carries 15 marks.

Important Instructions

  • Candidates will receive their admit cards directly from the university.
  • Candidates with Disabilities (SAP) will be granted an additional 30 minutes to complete the test, offering them extra support during the examination.
  • Candidates must follow the instructions specified on their admit cards.

Note: Candidates must ensure that their answers do not reveal their identity. Any answer scripts with personal identifiers, like names or contact details, will be disqualified.

  • They have to carry two recent passport-sized photographs along with the admit card to the exam center.
