NIMHANS Entrance Exam Schedule

The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences has launched applications for all of its courses. The institute will hold an entrance examination, which will determine the ultimate admittance. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements must apply for their respective programs' entrance exams by March 31, 2025.

Date of Announcement of Provisional selection list of candidates for Ph.D. courses May 16, 2025
Date on which the results for every other course will be announced May 16, 2025
Date of Admission – Medical Courses (except PDF) May 25, 2025
Date of Admission – Non - Medical Courses (except Ph.D) May 26, 2025
Date of Admission – PDF & Ph.D. Courses May 27, 2025
Date of course commencement July 7, 2025

NIMHANS Entrance Exam Documents Required

The following paperwork must be submitted by candidates when they register for the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences Entrance Examination:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets (uploaded as PDF)
  • Degree/Diploma certificates and mark sheets (as applicable to the program)
  • Birth certificate (10th mark sheet can also serve as proof)
  • SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/EWS certificates (if applicable)
  • Karnataka domicile certificate (if applicable)
  • NOC/Sponsorship Certificate (if applying under Sponsored/Deputed category)
  • External Fellowship/NIMHANS Project related documents (if applicable)
  • candidate's image and signature (in JPG or JPEG format).

Candidates may not be permitted to attend the entrance exam if they do not bring the documents they submitted, which may be necessary for verification of the information.
