Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) has opened the application process for PhD admission 2026. Interested candidates can apply online for doctoral programmes offered across various health science disciplines includes Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Nursing. Eligible candidates must submit the application form and fee by March 4, 2026, till 11:55 PM.

Admissions will be based on the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences Pre-Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET-2026) for candidates seeking entry into the university’s doctoral programmes. To proceed further with the application fee, candidates have to pay the application fee of INR 2500 (SC, ST, STA candidates of Rajasthan domicile state only), and INR 5,000 (UR, OBC, EWS candidates).

RUHS PhD Admission Process

Admissions to doctoral programs at RUHS are based on scores in the RUHS PhD. Entrance Test (PET 2026). However, candidates who have qualified national-level exams such as UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, SLET, GATE, GPAT, or SET, or those who already hold a PhD, will be exempt from appearing forRUHS PET 2026 examination. Such candidates must still complete the online application process.

RUHS PhD Eligibility Criteria

Full-Time Regular

For admission to full-time doctoral programmes at Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur, candidates must hold relevant postgraduate qualifications, depending on the specializations candidates choose. In Medicine and Dentistry, candidates must hold an MD, MS, MDS, or an equivalent master’s degree from a recognised regulatory body such as the National Medical Commission or the Dental Council of India, in their specialisation.

In Non-medical, candidates must hold a 3-year M.Sc. in core medical sciences, while in Pharmacy, candidates must hold an M.Pharm or equivalent recognised by the Pharmacy Council of India with at least 55% marks. In Nursing, candidates must hold M.Phil Nursing or M.Sc. Nursing, or an equivalent recognised postgraduate degree with relevant marks.

Part-Time

The part-time PhD programme at Rajasthan University of Health Sciences is available only for working professionals within the jurisdiction of RUHS. According to the official website, the eligibility criteria for part-time doctoral programs are the same as a full-time PhD program. Provided, a candidate must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and written permission from their employer to pursue research alongside their job.

While for Nursing, part-time applicants must additionally have at least three years of teaching or clinical experience after completing the M.Sc. Nursing and must be employed in a teaching institution, hospital, or community health setup within the university’s jurisdiction.

RUHS PET 2026 Key Highlights

The PhD Entrance Test (PET) 2026, conducted by Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, will be a 120-minute, English-medium objective examination of 100 marks, comprising two sections—Research Methodology & General Aptitude and Subject Aptitude—each carrying 50 marks, with all MCQs awarded 1 mark each and both sections held on the same day.
