IACS to Accept IISER IAT & IIT JAM Scores for Admissions from AY 2026-27

The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) has recently announced a major change in its admissions policy for the academic year 2026-27. It has decided to accept national entrance test scores for its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

As per the official notification published on the IACS website, stating that starting from the 2026-27 academic session, the IACS will accept IISER Aptitude Test scores for admission to its BS-MS, an undergraduate programme. The IISER IAT is a national entrance examination conducted every year by the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research for admission to undergraduate science programmes.

Key changes from Academic Year 2026-27:

1. IISER IAT scores accepted for BS-MS admissions at IACS.
2. Admission to the and/or an independent screening process
3. IIT JAM scores accepted for Master’s and Integrated Master’s-Ph.D. programmes in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics.

In addition to this, the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science will also recognise Joint Admission Test for Master's (JAM) scores for admissions to its Master’s and Integrated Master’s-Ph.D. programmes in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics. JAM is a nationally administered entrance examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), widely accepted for admission to postgraduate science programs across top institutions.
